As someone who also has a fondness of betty boop, the drawing is adorable! Me and my aunt, who I was really close with at the time, always put on betty boop when I came and spent the night. We always had a set schedule; watch betty boop, eat dinner, watch some more betty boop, go to sleep, wake up, go to Starbucks (she always got a caramel macchiato and would get me hot chocolate w/ a cake pop 🥲), then if it was a Sunday go to church (I’m not a believer in any religion, but it was nice when I was 6-9 yrs at the time and just wanted to be close to her :)) or if it was Saturday we would go to the park near her house or go run errands and window shop. I spent the night at her house often. Sometimes, if I was lucky I would stay for 2 nights if I went on Friday and got home Sunday since school is a thing lol. She has decided to cut all contact with me since I was in 4th grade-up. I miss it sometimes. Thanks for giving me that little bit of nostalgia and happiness from my childhood chris

Loving this series so far! It seemed like you were more comfortable drawing in public this time. I like the style of the editing much better for this video - the real-time shots vs the big jump cuts in the last video. Definitely was more relaxing for me! Can’t wait to see more! My husband got me into f1 in the past 2 years or so. We went to Austin for a race last year! Who’s your favorite team/driver?

I love these Cafe videos too. They really inspire me to get out and do the same. I wish I could but due to chronic illness I'm coupled up in the cocoon of my house, either in my art studio or in/or on my bed. I miss this and never really got to do art in cafes before, although I used to keep a journal many many years ago when I lived on the streets in thee punk scene in Denver. We spent a ton of time at a very edgy bookstore/coffee shop that stayed open until 4am which was how we stayed safe because the streets qere really violent in 1991-1995. We were very misunderstood by the, hmmm without getting monetized, I'll call them "groups" of people who thought a shaved head or strange clothes and combat boots made you a skin...(race..)..head which we somehow got to change their understanding and we could see eye to eye, but had some very close calls. Anyway I'm rambling. This is what I miss. Sitting in the Cafe or by the bookshelves and journalinng. I wrote everything in them and now....30 years later I still have them and can go back and read about my life during the best years ever with the closest friend ever, people I am still just as close to today. So I think it would be a really cool idea to jot down your thoughts and maybe your experiences even if they seem mundane. The conversation behind you about F1 and what you enjoyed while you sipped your coffee and drew the portraits. They are incredible by the way. Being able to feel like you're there again 30 years later just by cracking open your sketchbooks again and reading what your time was like when you were sketching or what you had going on that day. Maybe write a bit about it on the page behind or the back of the page next to each one. Maybe I'm just wishful thinking and rambling because this reminded me of going to Muddy's in 1990 or 1993. Basically I really loved this video and leaving the sounds of people taking and not using music is the absolute perfect choice. Thanks for bringing me back to a place I can't go back to. It really was a lovely video and your drawings are beautiful.

I’m really glad you showed the references you used. For some reason in the art world, showing that you used a reference is looked down upon or even called “cheating”, even though almost everyone uses one. Brilliant video and art.

I used to hold pencils in a similar way and I’ve slooooowly trained myself to change it because it was giving me nerve damage. Earlier this year it got bad enough that I took myself to physical therapy. They taught me “nerve glide” stretches (look it up theyre great!!) and wrist/hand/arm strengthening excersises that pretty much fixed it! Now i do some stuff with a dumbbell or resistance band and the nerve glides at least a couple times a week to protect my wrist and hand. The main issue was bending my wrist at that one angle for too long, changing the grip and angle my drawing surface is at has helped as well.

When I see this type of content I feel soooo inspired to create something in my sketchbook. It's kinda refreshing. And you help me to understand things that I am still not 100% into (like the way you shade and crosshatch) even if I watch a lot of tutorials and art videos. Since you asked for opinions, I like cafe "noises" + a low volume chill music. Both there at the same time. It would be nice. But other than that I really like this series and your style. Hope to see more soon! ^_^ Thank you for posting and creating.

In reference to the background sound/music. I reckon there must be a way to separate the ambient real-time sound and then overlay that to the edited visuals? Because I think I prefer the natural ambience to background music, but also a bit of timelapsed mixed in with jump cuts. Great to see this series developing, it's making me want to get out there and do a bit more!

I watch a lot of David Finch’s channel and he likes a F1, also. In fact a lot of artists on that channel like it. I wonder what it is with artists and F1? J. @@paulwoodford1984 umm its not dangerous there, I am a young woman too, & I would never try to put anyone in harms way! Wouldnt have said anything if it was. Plus use your common sense - its open daytime too, she can go (or not go, again its her choice lol) whenever she pleases or feels comfortable to. Its rare for a cafe to be open so late, so that uni students can study or relax there. So its like a fun fact about it. Surprised to see people get heated over a suggestion. I only mentioned it because they have unique treats like daifuku strawberry mochi there and its popular with artists/students to visit. Thought she may like it! Super affordable and many non coffee drinks to choose from. My comment was intended to be lighthearted and positive 😂 Dont take things so serious please

I am loving these eps so so much!! Since you asked for it, here are things I can think of about editing and pacing: -I thought the pacing was good actually, I liked how much you showed -I think the music instead of fading it in just to show the finished piece could be playing quietly along with the background noise, then just made a little louder to show the finish piece, that way it is more seamless -I do love your other videos where you narrate them with your voice, but I know it is way more time consuming to do that than add subtitles ;P Keep up these vids!!
