this sketchbook is the Canson "XL" mix media sketchbook! It's pretty decent for all kinds of media and I use it mostly for doing colour thumbnails :) thanks for watching!

the cross hatching reminds me of how leyendecker would approach his paintings! the textured strokes really do bring another sense of life into it

The strath sketchbooks tend to be hot-pressed watercolour so the pigment rests above the paper rather than in the texture/absorbed like with cold pressed watercolour paper. It's great for drawing or if you're just doing glazes - but it does make it easier to lift pigment and paint wet on wet only.

You should try pastel pencils over watercolor as well. The Chalk covers watercolor beautifully.

This sticker design is gorgeous! I don't think I'll be placing it anywhere else but inside the book. So excited for "Tumble", it'll be part of my art book collection but as a super-duper special artbook.
