There's a story to that. After a backstage fight in 2003, where Jericho actually stood up and fought back (this hate for eachother was built in WCW where Jericho tried to work a feud by making fun of Goldberg, and both Bischoff, Hogan and Goldberg was refusing to listen to Jericho promote Goldberg finally murdering him in WW3 98), Goldberg's tune actually changed overtime and was even inviting Jericho to fly with him to shows on his private jet.

I mean… I don’t think Jericho ever had the power to CHOOSE not to put Goldberg over. He didn’t want to put Fandango over… well he didn’t want to wrestle Fandango PERIOD at Wrestlemania and he’s said himself he was vocal about it backstage to Vince and guess what?… He still had to wrestle Fandango and he still had to lose to Fandango. So I don’t see Jericho ever being allowed to have the choice to put Goldberg over or not.

Really really cool to see this. I was a kid during the Jericho v Goldberg rivalry angle. I really wish they'd have gone all in on it. WCW had so much young talent that just needed more time in the light, Jericho just having a world title match vs Goldberg would have elevated him at that time. He didn't need to and shouldn't have beaten Goldberg at that time, but just the idea that Jericho could have a shot at the title would've opened up doors for guys like Eddie, Rey, Benoit, etc. Guys who were gonna be world champions for wwf/wwe one day. I may be crazy, but ditching the Jericho vs Goldberg angle hurt the company a lot more than I think most realize. Had the cruiserweight division been allowed more matches with the big names, a lot of those guys would've resigned with WCW. They actually tried a new blood vs legends angle, but at that point most of the top tier cruiserweights had left.

The part they spoke of at the end about Hogan being a business man makes a lot of sense, you hear so many stories these days about how he's selfish but look at some of the people who he put over, Goldberg, The Ultimate Warrior, The Rock, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Triple H, that's the calibre you have to be, you need someone special to beat him or he would look cheap and weak. For him to loose to anyone and everyone doesn't make sense. Take for example popular wrestlers like CM punk, Daniel Bryan or AJ Styles as good as they are sorry but they are not mega star material that would want me to buy a ticket and go watch them. Take Brock Lesnar today you wont see him loose to anyone! Except for a select few, heck Brock won't even wrestle people who he's doesn't see fit. In the end Hogan did what he knew what's best for business.
