What is the best way to learn to play by ear?? Like I’m getting to the point where I’m learning the numbers of each key but how do I associate these numbers with a sound and know by hearing it what chord it would be?? I’ve been trying to listen to songs to see if I can hear the progression and the struggle is real because I’m not sure what I’m even hearing. 😂

Focus only on the bass. Practice singing the numbers of the major scale as you hear the bass note change. Once you get that, everything else falls into place.
