Nice adjustment. Wondering how long a keeper striper is there. Here in Ca. it's 18" state wide.

Great video. It's great to see a fish in the surf. it's been tough so far this year. I've been catching a lot of rats. Not many blues can wait for the fluke to start in the surf

chunking those south shore beaches in RI can be finicky, you really need to be on them. Ive gotten fish on a chunk right outside the wash not far from shore. I usually use fresh bunker and 3oz weights.

I’m from ri and am new to saltwater fishing, where are some good spots for bass and blues?
@Edizzle158 ай бұрын
@@melvinshaw8249I was born in Hartford Connecticut and we had a cottage on Misquamicut beach growing up. We moved to Colorado in 91’ but I remember catching blues and stripers right off the beach. But I remember the best fishing being off of watch hill, weekapaug breachway, Charlestown beach and Charlestown breachway.

Do tides effect your fishing when your on the beach ,, If it does ,,,what would be the Ideal tide to fish...??
@ChrisMcIntee8 ай бұрын
it certainly does, and its different beach to beach, state to state, season to season. So far this year fishing this beach, I havent noticed any pattern to the tide... one day theyre there, the next theyre gone. 2 hours before to 2 hours after the turn of either high or low would be my preference to fish any spot, but its highly variable depending on time, location, species

Hook points get broken and worn down on sand and rocks, mostly. I've seen hook points bent by an albie tooth. Hardtails have hard teeth.

We used to get a run of Boston mackerel in April in the ny bight. They would come in huge schools with whiting. All the party boats would go for them. Then in May they would be chased away by bluefish. Striped bass were scarce 30:01

You would do better to spike that rod with a big circle hook. Let the fish hook themselves, thats the purpose of circle hooks. But you know that.
