When Ronaldo joined Juventus, he didn’t score in the first 4 matches and didn’t finish top scorer, or second top scorer or even third. Quagliarella (26), Zapata (23), Piątek (22) then Ronaldo with 21. Then Immobile outscored him in the second season, Theo is just waffling. Ligue 1 is still the 5th league (it literally has more points than Liga Bwin again) too, and Messi has played 190 minutes in all competitions for PSG so far so finished or a fraud? Ridiculous. Not to mention he already has a hat-trick for Argentina this season.

Great podcast but let me correct you here Theo. Messi in 2018 had better overall stats, he won the golden boot over Ronaldo, they both played in Laliga back then and he also won the domestic double. As it was an international tournament year, best player of that international tournament (Modric), got a bigger advantage at the Ballon D'or and eventually won it. This year, Messi went on to win the pichichi, one of the most chances creater and assist provider in Europe. He won a domestic cup as the best player of the final and the tournament. He went on to win a international tournament as the top scorer, top assist provider and best player of the tournament. Lewandowski like always had yet another awfully forgettable international tournament, but we are just gonna skip past that and only focus on 'goals' this season, to fit the agenda that Messi doesn't deserve it. You need to watch more football outside premier league. And the fact that theo made fun of Messi's diet is hilarious, Messi at the age of 34 is more fit than most, he doesn't need to validate that everyday on Instagram.

Messi is incredible and deserves the status of being in the goat convo. But you can’t really overlook that Messi went to Ligue 1, which I believe isn’t in the top 5 European leagues anymore. Whilst Ronaldo around the same time went to the Premier League, so it’s a good comparison. Messi so far has no goals and assists in a “farmers league” as it normally gets called. Whilst Ronaldo has 3 goals in the Prem and 4 goals for United in a similar time. You can argue that Messi is used to one system his whole life so he’s adapting. But when people say he can do things no one else can, and that he’s incredible, which he is. That talent and skill should make him be able to score, and he probably still will score a lot in Ligue 1 this season. But it seems like Ronaldo is going to outscore him, in the Premier League.

Ronaldo has also played more minutes than Messi which doesn't really play a significant part but should be considered. Edit: I just checked and Ligue 1 is back at 5th position unless I'm mistaken

Theo is so biased towards Cristiano, it's almost annoying and nearly impossible to watch with so many incorrect information. The only things Where Cristiano is better than Messi is overall goals scored and Champions League trophies. But even then: Messi has a way better goal to game ratio than Cristiano, so that can't be taken into account. There is no comparison. Cristiano's greatest ever achievement will always be that he is getting compared to Messi. Messi is sooo clear, Cristiano is not even close. Suarez scored 31 and got like 17 assists in a team that consisted of Jon Flanagan, Joe Allen, Glen Johnson in the first whereas Ronaldo was in one of the best premier league teams ever. Not to add Suarez didn’t take a single penalty. If Suarez had taken penalties for Liverpool that season he would’ve scored 44 league goals in 31 appearances. Easily the best individual performance the premier league has ever seen.
