Mail Merge for Gmail - Different attachments for each recipients by Chris Menard

You can use Gmail to perform a mail merge. The advantage of Gmail over Outlook is you can use an Add-on that is free to send different attachments to different recipients and you can also schedule delivery.
Everything you need is free. A Gmail account, chrome, and google sheets which is part of Google Docs. Microsoft Outlook 2016 and previous versions of Outlook allow you to perform a mail merge also, but if you want to send an attachment it is all of nothing. Meaning every recipient gets the same attachments or they don't get any attachments.
Another feature I noticed when doing the mail merge with Gmail is I can even customize the subject line. That is impossible with Outlook.
Exact steps:
1. Sign into your Gmail account using Google Chrome.
2. Click on the icon for Google apps in the top right. Go to Drive.
3. When Drive opens up, click on New in the top left and select Google Sheets.
4. Click Add-ons then select Get Add-ons. Type in "mail merge with attachments" and press Enter.
5. It should be the first one. To the right click on Free and select Allow and it will be installed.
6. Click back on Add-ons and now

I believe Gmail allows 500 emails a day, but the add-in I'm using, for the free account, only allows 50 a day. The paid allows a lot more, maybe unlimited.

From Google's support pages. " _You may see this message if you send an email to a total of more than 500 recipients in a single email and or more than 500 emails sent in a day._ " So 500 sounds like the limit.

This method is not useful for different attachments with few hundred names. You need to look for each individual attachment address to input into the sheet. That is murdering task.

Hello, how are you? Just wondering if there is a way that we can send an attachment based on its file name? For example, if we have a column in our mail merge google sheet as 'Customer Numbers', and the PDF is named 'Customer number'2016, is there a way we can automatically search that and send the attachment without having to select the PDFS for say 200 customer emails? For example, customer number is 1234, and the PDF file would be 12342016. Can we get that to automatically populate the link based on the file name to send to that customer? Thanks heaps :)

No, they are each getting a different PDF, with the filename being their customer number followed by the year. i.e. Customer 1234 will be sent the PDF named 12342016.pdf?

The problem is Google Drive problem. If I have a file named 12342016.pdf and get the link for it, it give me that crazy code. Example: drive.google.com/open?id=0B84qterereeere333$$$$QOHlxT0k If it gave me drive/google/Customers/1234206.pdf with the file name and folder structure, I could get it to probably get it to work with a Concatentate function.
