I don’t know why people dislike this recording. It’s faster than other famous recordings but venegrov creates so many colors in his sound, it’s really, really good. The sound quality I think perfectly fits the mood of the piece, the crackles and the constant buzz in the background gives it such a sweet, nostalgic feeling. It’s my favorite recording on KZbin

To all the people criticizing him. He is technical as perfect as nobody else. Just watch his Sibelius Vilinconcerto. He plays it without any wrong note(maybe a few that are not 100% in tune) and with so many different colours and emotions, and with perfect technic. After that the ysaye Sonata Nr. 3. again with perfect tune and technic. At the same time so dramatic. In my opinion his Sonata has to played exacly like he does. Back to this piece. He Interpretation is so Gold. I mean compare his ending with Hilary's ending or look at the move he does while playing the left hand Finger pizz.- part...

Harmonicos y pizzicatos a la vez! Oh, DIOS MIO! QUE TERROR!
