No no no no. All Chris is doing is going to make me go work out how much we spent and I’m going to have to do a video with him about it. I see what you’re doing here Miller.

I really don't understand how you only have 13.6k subs? Your content and quality is sooooo good

What about power overlays that you’ve used in some of the videos? Were you using GoPro for those cases?
@ChrisMillerCycling4 жыл бұрын
Hey Ain, it’s been a mixture. I do find the Sony the easiest to do the power overlays, simply due to the fact it gives me the option of one video file. The GoPro will break the footage into 10min files, which will require you to sync each file. I have seen there are work around for that, but it’s not an out of the box solution.

Chris Miller Cycling thanks! Reasons your wide variety of devices, which is a pity really as the ultimate cycling requirement is not rocket science.

after all the back and forth aboutt being good for racing etc....can you show it mounted and what a good race mount set up looks like for the DJI? Im looking for a mounting setup that is tucked away under the bars or simular and also something that allows the camera to be removed and mounted quickly when commuting etc. so i can pop it off and chuck it into my bag or throw it back on the bike when going home without dinking around with the screws and setting the angles of the camera again etc etc.

Chris what microphones do you use? And you connect this mic to the DJI?

8:09 - the stabilization of the Sony is terrible, should be better with the optical stabilization...I pulled out my AS100V the other day and it was just as bad.

I would just like to give a different prospective; looking at these coming from a full frame "proper camera" point of view. I mostly use a Canon Eos R. When i consider these action cam cameras, it is from convenience and use of application. Why do i say this; the bare bones truth is these cameras, Chris is showing are really not better than phones for picture quality. But they do give you some settings benefit and ease of use for sporting activities. If you want better picture quality you need to get a proper camera. BUT, and the big but is a proper camera is much harder to use, needs gimbals for stablising the shots, expert settings for the situation and colour grading to get the best out of them. So that is the pros and cons. Basically what i am saying here is; don't buy action cameras for "better picture quality" they will not deliver that. Hope that helps your buying choice.

I started debating between the DJI and the Gopro8 when the DJI dropped to $259usd. But your video helped me the most. My cameras spend 90% of their lives on my helmet. So I've been trying to find a cycling-specific comparison between the two. So thank you. Sadly, I've done so much research that I missed the sale. I'm still going with the DJI. I've been running a Gopro4 so long that it's becoming embarrassing. Thanks for the video. I like your anti-establishment, eat-ahit-Gopro-youre-not-rhe-boss-of-me attitude.

Thanks for the video. Such great review! Insta 360 can be used in multiple occasions while others can be used only as action cam that’s what I though.

Chris, I run 2 Garmin Virb Ultra’s on my boat. Very good, but they have their own idiosyncrasies like all of these cameras. For the bike, I am now running a Fly6 and Fly12 light/camera combos.

Does then handlebar bag squish the cabling on the front of the bike, and does it impact braking n shifting?
@Shoemoose4 жыл бұрын
New follower, Chris. Thanks for this. Would be really interested in a thorough breakdown from a cyclists POV. Looking at getting creative with my rides and also for peace of mind. Out of curiosity. Was there any difference in reliability between the cameras? (Other than the insta360)

Thanks for the review Chris! Was about to pull the trigger on the gopro. Gps is important yeah came from a session 5, that sucked manual sync. Dji osmo it is!

Have you looked at the GoPro Max (360)?
@waynosfotos4 жыл бұрын
I am considering this, as i like the wide look of the 360, Chris uses. It also can be used as a Gropro. I also do car photography so my use will be a bit wider.

Hi Chris, Firstly, thank you for sharing this with us. Would you like to be a bit further with us on the subject, please ? Because no one on YoutTube seems to have made a footage with the Insta360 One R (4k and 360) on the handlebar. Would you like to do it for us, please ? That will be a awesome. About the form factor, you should see cams from Drift Innovation. DC Rainmaker posted a video about GoPro Lab and one of the features is about having 12Gb files with your GoPro.

Hey mate, will do regarding the I320 4K module. The main reason I haven’t used it is the focal length makes it unusable to VLOG with on the bike, which kind of renders it as a bulkier and heavier GoPro with a shorter battery life 🤔

That intro sequence was pretty great. If I were to not care about audio that much. Does the stabilisation and fov advantage on the GoPro beat the cinematic(ness)of the DJI osmo action in your opinion

Hi Chris, I'm thinking of getting into the camera thing and in my mind I love the prospect of the dji Osma pocket. I think you have used it in the past but you haven't included it in the review. Is there a reason for this?

Hmm, so you are sponsored by Maxxis? Maxxis make amongst the best MTB tires ever, huge fan Minions are maybe the best MTB tire ever designed and the tubeless Minion is stellar. However I loathe their road tires, I'd rather have a tubed Conti, Michelin etc than any road tubless Maxxis offering to be brutally honest. It's cool to be sponsored, but keep it real.
