thats a very good example of choices and preference - hope the guy enjoys his ride, no wrong decision there either way you decide to go. unfortunately also no gains in performance but certainly gains in appearance (that counts too)

That 900 sounds so similar to my old zx12r at startup and idle, does sound like its not as big of a engine throughout the rest of the rev range but geeze the sound is glorious!

Just replaced my factory system with a combo Black Widow UK header kit + MIVV silencer. The new setup is 15 lbs lighter, looks better, and sounds great. Definitely worth swapping out for what I was going for.

Is the BW header a 4-1 pipe design or a 4-2-1? The ebay listing says 4-1 but it looks like a 4-2-1

@@dw0095 4-2-1. It may have recently changed from 4-1, as that's what was listed when I ordered it, but it is 4-2-1.

i use black widow headers too on my Tracer 900 with custom end pipe and works fine i got 116hp on that.

Black widow in the UK are basiclly a decat exhaust system. I had one on my xsr 700. posted off my ecu. the bhp went up only +3 the bike ran so much better, really smooth and sounded unbelievable exhaust and remap all for £500. great video.

The quality is quite poor on black widow products any of I've seen but I suppose you get what you pay for

@@K-carbon strange as my black widow headers on my Z900 have seen several UK winters. Road salts, rain, temperatures down to -12°C and even the odd flurry of snow and still look like new. If you’re going to ride a bike in crap weather, you need to protect it. Couple of coats of ACF50 a year and zero corrosion.

Black widow is mainly for looks and they do last, the pipe is a little bit wider but that's about it

Thanks so much! You saved me £250. Currently running stock header, de-cat pipe and Scorpion slip on so very similar to this bike pre Black Widow. Always thought I might be losing out compared to an aftermarket header with 38mm primaries instead of the 35mm of stock. Obviously not. Kawasaki knows how to design an exhaust. My bike made 126 without a flash so similar to your numbers. Great work. Love your channel. 😄

I watched brocks Davidson a couple of months back do his magic on a z900 with a full system he was experimenting, I think it made decent hp, like 128-129 but that full system would cost 2000$, that is worth out trying if you are looking for midrange and power up top,he is done a lot of R&D on his system I guess

@@skywalker7517 Love my Z900 but got to remember it's a budget bike, a lot of bang for the buck. So for me, the tuning needs to follow the same philosophy. When it gets to the point of spending that much on an exhaust your'e already half way to trading up to a faster bike.

Great video! One of the best out there. Learned alot. I had planned on getting a z900 this spring but went way off track and got a zx14r. Guess you get what you pay for. When I was shopping for the 900, I never really saw a system that looked great. Looks like a great fun bike! I may get one as a second bike.

So far, the only Black Widow pipes we've seen do good are on the 06+ 600/750... They made 120 and 138 respectively... The Busa duals lost 7hp. And here it looks like it's down in the midrange and good as stock up top. Great quality, just not making power anywhere else.

Looks like the customer forgot to install the tail light grommet when he put the aftermarket light in. You can see it wobbling in the tail housing. That would drive me nuts. Great video as always!

to be honest, 1-2 hp difference is actually no difference at all. looks better than the oem for sure. also there is no cat so it definitely runs cooler, so thats a pro as well. i would say its worth it.

It really doesn't. This shows that you get what you pay for with regards to exhausts.. Black Widow sells cheap exhaust systems. He would see a decent gain if he used a header from a performance company ,Akrapovic, for instance. 3x as much money.

The Black Widow's are gonna be a lot more than a couple of pounds lighter than stock, Akra say their headers alone are 10lbs lighter! The net performance gain is worth the swap given how close the graphs are.

I would say it’s worth it if the customer is happy no matter what …he got what he wanted a cleaner look , im sure it rides “better” but come one let’s be honest the bike looks better slow nobody can see it if you are going fast

It takes a tool to get premium slip on like an Akrapovic and pair it with an EBay, bottom barrel header, AND waste money on tune into it again lmfao. If he changed the gearing to be more aggressive, that will also make small changes on the dyno, every operator also knows this.

Depends on how much money he dished out his pockets, thinking he was gonna a gain. Long story short, as long as he's happy that's all that really matters. But it does suck to go full exhaust and loose HP. 😞

Would a full system Black Widow be that bad for the Z900, compared to the stock system w/ cat? I'm tempted for the looks and sound. And I imagine at least with a Moore Mafia tune / ECU flash it will be a little bit better than stock, HP/torque-wise? I don't want to drop $2k on a full system exhaust for a $9k bike. And Black Widow looks better than Delkevic, though I don't know Delkevic's dyno #s.

@@exothermal.sprocket probably meant oil inside seen through the sight glass? When engine is running you usually see nothing, it has to be rested for a while for oils to settle.
