Nice video. I have a problem to where I’ve been casting so long that I need to make the hauling motion even if I’m not hauling just to keep the casting rhythm going. Don’t know why

Once you do learn it, not doing it can be challenging. I have to remind myself all the time when doing basic casting videos.

I can cast fairly well with a mono leader for trout, but it gets very tricky with a leader with a shock made of steel. What do I need to change, Captain? Cheers from Argentina. Your videos are great for beginers like myself.

I was just thinking about making such a video the other say. i prefer to use either 7 strand cable or some of the tieable stainless steel leader like Cortland Toothy Critter. it is much more flexible than wire and casts better. Also keep the piece as short as you can. Stay tuned for a video.

50 feet with no haul seems like a lot of effort on a casting arm. I’m confident i could do that but it just seems like why would you do that when you could haul and use half the effort. 8+ wt rods are so heavy compared to smaller rods your shoulder would be worn out.
