Beautiful. How close do you try to keep the line to the rod ? Or maybe I should ask how much cant do have on the rod ? Side view it looks pretty straight up and down.

Good question. Where you point the tip of the rod is a matter of personal preference. I never cast straight up and down because any mistake can land the fly in your head or body. As long as the tip is travelling in a straight line back and forth, you can cast loops at any angle. On videos, i try and cast slightly more up and down than I usually do because it shows the loop shape better. I think this video may answer your question kzbin.info/www/bejne/gImXqYCHn7qNd9U
