He’s definitely taking it in strides, and I have high respects for him continuing to do what he does despite it all, but it’s not fair to assume AVGN can’t take a joke either. He and nostalgia critic and a lot of the other guys from that era (except linkara) can still appreciate that if people enjoy their content ironically, it’s still being enjoyed nonetheless.

Its not you. There's been a whole thing about this going on for about over a year now but recently it's been found that screenwave is basically writing the episodes for James and he sorta churns them out in a factory work style. James made a video where he talks about how he makes his videos and shows it and there's a lot of stuff in the video that shows how he has this baffling setup and by his own methodology of how he makes his videos, has made it take way longer as well as all look exactly the same. Basically even though he's the innovator of the genre, he himself failed to progress with the innovation and eventually reverted to "Small episodes".

This game legit was ahead of its time. I still haven't seen anything re-create the fun either. Not in the same way ... the new micro machines games hard force you onto a track - it is a very bad racing game which happens to make you look like you are driving around a kitchen. The original was more fun than anything .. and the art direction was so charming. People try paying your artists... In the 2nd game for Sega they began to introduce more and more ideas of a locked-in track and it the charm is lost.

Take it from someone who just started playing the World Series game on the PC a few weeks ago... you might want to revise that recommendation. I wanted to like it, but like so many other reviews, it was really hard to give it passing grades for much of anything. Even though it doesn't have the MM license, Toybox Turbos, made by Codemasters as well, is basically everything the MM license could have asked for, just without the official support.
