On the litter subject, I 100 percent agree, and this by no means condones it but ironically when Deptford Creek in london was cleaned up, over 400 shopping trolleys and other discarded rubbish were removed, fish stocks declined by 50%, as the fish had started to use these structures for hiding places etc in place of the normal structures that were found since the watercourse had been modified so heavily. I think they wound up having to sink wooden structures in place of the trolleys to encourage fish to come back!
@OriginalMindTrick2 күн бұрын
That's ironic. Shopping trolleys should be decent fish structures.

Great video! many thanks. As regards the pollution issue, though, it's such a shame to see such rubbish and junk lying around everywhere. I recently went dead-baiting for pike at a local canal for a few hours. I caught a cracking fish, a pike of about 15 or 16 lbs or so. It was the first time I fished there in years, and I was saddened to see so much defilement in what was once a picturesque and pristine stretch of canal. There were cans, bottles, and rubbish everywhere, and also the vandalism and graffiti as well. It's so sad. Anyway, thanks for another entertaining session, and I look forward to your next endeavours. Tight lines, and a happy new year to you.

Totally agree on the condition of our rivers . We have a stream running through the farm ,it only has one road crossing it and practically no houses ,yet we het alot of rubbish after the floods . It can only be from people in cars throwing it over the bridge ... Sad to see. Also at 11.15 when you start talking about the rubbish is that a tree that has been felled by a beaver ? Great video yet again 🙂

You are so right when it comes to the pollution from us humans, throwing such things in the water is not a good way to move forward. I think the situation is a little bit better here in Sweden, but i know of waters where i grew up swimming in, are not fit for humans or pets as there is so much glass thrown into the lake. It is really saddening. But yeah i often see smaller pieces of rubbish thrown on the bank by other fishers here, i often try to collect it and discard it in a good way. I don't understand how someone with a interest in the nature, be it fishing or picking mushrooms, dont let your garbage out in the nature.. you obviously brought it there so you can obviously take it with you back too. Also removing deadbaits set up over night for catching anyting tied to a stick. Will always remove it. That particular habit i do know whos doing it, but he refuses to understand what i say to him either in Swdish or English. I dont buy that. Respect the nature. More so if you arent from here from the beginning. The reason we have such nice nature is because we have cared for it. And will continue to do, so you need to do it too. Some would naybe call me a rasist, but im not. I just want everyone to give the nature the respect it deserves. For my and your childrens future.
