As always another fantastic video by Chris Ralph, the only thing I would add to this is how to check the battery status level and you hold down the hold down the noise, cancel button and then hit the threshold button and release it and it’ll show the battery level indicator on the LEDs but like I said another fantastic video by Chris Ralph thank you, Chris

I heard on the radio Folsom Lake is at such a low level, that a part of the lake bed is exposed, which hasn't been exposed for decades. The state is imposing fines for $250,000 if your caught digging or taking anything from the lake. Last year I was there in July. I was collecting nice quartz rocks with my 6 yr old niece. I have cleaned the quartz & they all have beautiful shiny clusters that look like silver. I wish you could look at it and tell me what it is! I have good pics. 💖 Thank You for posting your knowledge! Looks like you are healing well!

@@ChrisRalph Chris, silly 🙃 I didn't know you had a protocol when viewing pics and/also I said "I wish you could" because I never imagined that you would be able to. Anyways, hope you're healing nicely. I recently relocated to So. Cali. from Gold Country... looks like I won't be traversing throughout the water ways and finding my own treasures anytime soon😒... though I do have the beach and all her glory now 😄! tc

Chris, unfortunately I cant afford the SDC2300. But I do have a question, I live in Texas and the closet known gold to where I live is found in the Llano River. As you might know, here it's very fine gold, alot of times it sits in pockets worn into the limestone both in and at the edge of the river. (And other spots in that locale). So the question is: will the fisher gold bug pro help me find these collections of gold or should I be looking in a different direction. Given that the price range of GBP is about my current budget. Thanks
@ChrisRalph2 жыл бұрын
No, a detector wont help you. Metal detectors respond to solid pieces of gold way better than accumulations of tiny pieces. So you will find that a metal detector that responds well to a tiny flake that weighs 1/10th of a gram will not respond at all to an 10 gram accumulation of 200 mesh dust sized gold where the individual particles weigh 1/1000 th of a gram - even though the total weight of the tiny dust particles together is much more. At all has to do with the physics of how metal detectors work.

Would you say this is prob the best option for checking crevasses with a fair amount of packed material in creek beds and such to find out if there is heavy, metallic objects of some kind, hopefully gold, maybe 6 to 8 inches deep ruffley. So I know which crevasses to work. I know it's crazy to spend 3400 bucks but the time it would save since I have 1 day a week to prospect would be well worth it. I'm mainly wondering this or a good smf detector like the nox with a very small coil do the same thing? I guess that makes sense,Look forward to your opinion when u get time, thanks.

Hi great video!! A question about the GM1000 when you're detecting with it does it sometimes loos its sound? Like i have to turn the volume up all the way or off and on befor the sound comes back on, do you think this might be faulty machine?

Would you recommend hunting an area first with the VLF machine and then going over the area again with the PI machine.???? Thanks for your knowledge…..
@DigDougDig3 жыл бұрын
Many friends of mine hunt with VLF detectors and find really nice and some BIG gold, the secret is knowing where the PI cannot or will not hunt. Example, areas with lots of trash, tailings piles full of nails, all I hear is trash everywhere, but VLF didn't hear anything but the nice 1/4 ounce finger nugget. The trash filled road in the hydro pit, every one in the group detected and got trash, NOX got a nice 0.8 gram nugget, in the tire rut, and ignored all the iron.
@ChrisRalph3 жыл бұрын
The situation is complex and choosing which detector to use takes some knowledge.

I'm up in the high country of tasmania with my sdc 2300, I've been scanning the creek beds with no luck so far, I've found some large quarts veins wondering if it's worth breaking them up with a hammer?
@ChrisRalphАй бұрын
It is only worth while checking out quartz veins, if they sound off on your detector. Barren quartz is super common, but ones that sound off - these often contain gold.

A better tool analogy might be trying to use a slotted screwdriver to drive or remove a Phillips head screw. After all, you use a screwdriver to drive screws, and you use a metal detector to detect metal. But it's a lot easier to use the Phillips head screwdriver on that Phillips-headed screw.
