When I get to meet the Good Lord I'm going to ask God if he can just bring us back to this era and never let it change. 70's - 90's. Man what a time to be alive and enjoying life. Everyone playing outside until the street lights came on. The TV set at 10 (I believe) asking do you know where your children are? Families going to the lake and picnicking all day. Feeling nostalgic but it's all good. Music like this, takes us there.

I have said this countless times. We, as a society are supposed embrace/love change. Bull cookies (for me). The world we live in today bears no resembalence to the world I grew up in. Technology alone drives me nuts. There are things you have to pay for that did not exist 50 years ago. Internet, cell phone, identity protection, cable (if still so wired), etc., etc. Human interaction has almost become a lost art form. God has been driven out of society completely, and we are paying the price.

Anyone know what I mean when I say…certain songs just hit you emotionally. I was a child in the 70’s (born in 74). I hear certain songs now and I am instantly sitting in the back of my parents car for weekend shopping and remember things I’ve totally forgotten. It’s a good feeling but makes me cry as well. Where did the time go? Everything was so much better back then.
@sandrahernandez5695 ай бұрын
Yes, we all know..but you were just a preschooler when this song came out..We were teenagers so this song hits us in a much deeper way..Like maybe songs in the late 80s hit you
@reikiman745 ай бұрын
@@sandrahernandez569 what kind of stupid reply is that? How do you know how certain songs hit deeply with a child? I have an exceptional memory. I can remember being 2yrs old. I remind my parents of stories they’ve forgotten. This song and certain others reminds me of my childhood in the 70’s…when my grandfather died, when I was sexually abused. Does it get any deeper than that for a person? I don’t think so.

Chris, I'm 59. Just heard this song tonight again for the first time probably in 30 years. I thought I need to learn this on the guitar. I did a search on youtube and saw that my friend on Dave's Guitar Channel had a lesson. He gave you a shout out and explained the Record Label wanted you to use another name, and that you declined. Wow, people with principle back then. Well done, and thanks.

The reason why this song is such a classic because it is a Man, lyrics, a piano, and pure emotion. I love his scarf and how he looks into the camera as he sings. He tells a story about losing a love at a young age. We have all endured that. True magic.
