Chris & Clay, I'm thrilled that you got around to watching this short together. There is a vlog with the two animators watching and then talking about the process & work that went into the film. I love that there is no spoken dialog ("We didn't need dialog. We had faces." - Norms Desmond) yet you know just how/what Sherwin (the Ginger) is feeling/thinking. Even Jonathan (the Heartthrob) on the school floor first seems confused, maybe even a little annoyed but then there's the widening of his eyes(ever so slight and quick) when he realizes their connection. Beautifully done. Besides the animation, the music scoring is excellent at telling the emotions going on (the cello coming in as the heart begins to break gets me tearing up every time.) Also, there is a vlog In A Heartbeat Animators React to Elders React to In A Heartbeat, which I find hopeful. And the reaction vlogs go on & on from there, just like my comment here. So thanks for sharing, fellows.

My Disney Princes, I think Clay would rock creating a cartoon storyline and I agree there needs to be more along this line. Growing up I had no gay role model, it was always a stereotype if you saw any at all. That is why you both are such an inspiration to so many that can watch a gay couple and see just how normal it is. Love you both and stay safe.

The thing is that i relate to this animation waayyyy too much cus this actually happened to me... juuuuust the ending was the opposite. I was left heart broken. I just discovered that i was Bisexual (so around 2015. Was 14 yo.) and i was really into a girl at my secondary school. She was one of the prettiest girls i had ever seen. I didnt understand my feelings entirely yet but i was so desperate to be accepted for being how i am. And so, to prove it, i did everything to try to get her to like me, hoping she would be into girls too. I got her to a restaurant, i took her to the frickin cinema and gave her a love letter when i left to go back home. Sadly, she was Straight and called me a creep. She never talked to me ever again since then and we lost contact. THOUGH FEAR NOT! As i am rn 22 yo and ive been in a very happy and healthy relationship with a woman for 4 years now and still going strong. We are polar opposites which somehow makes our love stronger. We are still able to find lots of shows, games, movies and activities that we both love doing which is so awesome. We also own a cat so yey.

As a gay person myself I have to ask, do you think that gay animated movies should be PG-13 at least? I know that gay animated movies should not have to be for just an older audience but it just seems easier to keep parents from complaining. And believe me, I hunger for gay animated movies!

When things are rated PG-13, it implies the content is too adult for younger audiences members. This short film tells the story of love. We see straight love all of the time. There is nothing inappropriate about these two boys loving each other so there is no reason the rating should say things aren't safe for younger viewers. Does that make sense?
