I bought TSLA after the split on it's way to $130. I have 1600 shares and have been selling calls against the shares when the price moves up. When the stock moves down I sell wide Put spreads. I trade in three accounts, 2 are IRA thus the spreads. After the election, TSLA blew past my $295 calls. I rolled out and up to Jan 17, so little to do with TSLA at the moment but wait. Worst case the calls will take my shares away at double what I paid for them without mentioning my put spreads.
