This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection kzbin.infoUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

I’m an IKEA co-worker and a woodworker and pretty much agree with you about their design and most of the execution. Our goal is to provide well-designed quality products for the many. That doesn’t mean it has the quality and character of hand built furniture but it does serve a great purpose for millions of people around the world. And oh those meatballs!

Upon unboxing, I was immediately upset at how the rails were very noticeably bent. But I kept going, all tools needed to assemble were included kzbin.infoUgkxqtX4Dxs6aecAZEuz6GY5-d81YecKCshn and I had it set up in about 30 minutes. Honestly I love this thing, make sure to read the measurements and measure your space so you know if it'll work for you. I bought this to put inside my closet, underneath where I hang my clothes and it is absolutely perfect! It is VERY sturdy and all drawers glide easily and mine are stuffed, and they are still flush when closed.

Afternoon Chris, as a Blum user for many years I could float through different solutions they have to offer. One solution I really enjoyed is a fat disc style plug use to attach and properly position drawer fronts. One would insert by cutting a shallow hole with a Forstner bit and tapping the tight fitting discs in. What they do is give a small M4, (possibly imperial options on your side), screw thread that can fastened through the drawer box, tapping the drawer front for perfect alignment, and then fastening down the screws. Adjustment up to 3mm all round gives plenty of wiggle room. Give them a try, might change your life. :)

I really like when build videos have the separate components in the computer build all shown and then put together right in the beginning. Often you have to skip to the end first just to see a better version of the final build just to wrap your head around it. The way you did it here left no confusion on any part of the process. Without it I often am scratching my head til I see a few of the parts coming together then have to rewind and watch it again. This is a very good way to structure segments. It’s 100 times clearer. Please do this for all videos. Everyone will love you that much more. Especially people who are newer to the field like me. Thank you again and awesome build!

Thanks Charles. Yeah, I tend to do it a lot for that very reason. Just kind of set the stage so people get a rough idea of how things will come together, and they have a frame of reference for which pieces I am talking about. I have trouble with exactly what you mentioned, and this seemed like something that would clear it up for me. So glad to hear it helps others as well :)

Love your discourse at the end concerning client perspective of pricing. I'm a retired Architect and full time woodworker/luthier. As an Architect I pretty much hated clients, except the super sophisticated institutional clients that know what professional services cost. I don't have enough fingers to count the times lay-folk would start the conversation with "How much you charge for blueprints?"...anyway thanks for an insightful video and nice inspiration watching your calm work flow!

This was really satisfying to watch. I've recently built my first real piece of furniture, which funny enough is also a bedroom dresser. My own is though mostly built from scrap wood and mostly built by hand, by using my kitchen as a makeshift workshop (I don't have access to an actual workshop and can't afford one either). Watching this video made me even more satisfied with how my own piece turned out, although this is still vastly superior to my own. I've seen quite a few of your videos before, but I think it's time to sub as this video contained so much more than just woodworking. It had a profound message that I can only agree with. Thank you Chris for this quite amazing video. You didn't just entertain me, you also inspired me and made me a lot more satisfied with my own work than I have been before this. Thanks

I really feel you at that last part of the video. I don't make furniture, but the same principle applies to my field. I make custom costumes. And some people have the idea that I can make things custom and by hand out of fine fabrics for the same price as costumes from the party store. But there is a time and a place for both. For Halloween, you are not going to spend hundreds of dollars on a custom costume, you better go to the party store. But for movies and theater and reenactments, a cheap costume just isn't going to cut it, and you have to spend your money on custom work. I think it is the same for every creative entrepreneur.
