I've never had a #workbench that I've truly loved. Mostly b/c I didn't have the room. Well, I'm righting that wrong and building my ultimate workbench. Lots of function, lots of storage. Nice big surface. Everything that I need.

I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.

This workbench has been one of the more useful things I’ve built. The combo of a ridiculous amount of storage plus the workholding capabilities have made it the cornerstone of my shop. Yours looks great!

I actually thought it was misguided and patronizing. It didn't bother me that much but when someone argues that taking one step back in a supply chain is the right move, arguing that it is the equivalent of going to the beginning of said chain is rather fatuous.

I was actually waiting on him to explain why he bought the intersection kits instead of cutting them himself. He took a rather large step from "cutting the intersection kits yourself" to "making your own aluminum". One intersection kit is $25 bucks on Rockler's website. That's over $300 dollars on just t-track intersections. Geez.... That being said, I do agree that sometimes you come out on top just going and buy a product instead of taking an abnormal amount of time trying to make something you don't know how to make (example: buying an overpriced router lift system instead of trying to machine it on a mill and lathe).

What I most appreciate about your style is that you always add an aesthetic, even if only minimally. Probably 99% of people don't bother giving work tables or other shop infrastructure paint or finish. They leave all raw. But something being functional shouldn't mean it shouldn't have flare. It kind of drives me crazy how many makers, especially who specialize in aesthetic furniture or other pieces, are completely utilitarian about their shop space.

Thanks Jacky. I was always going to paint the stripes. I wasn't sure if I'd put on finish...but then I wanted finish for the top, and I didn't want it mismatched, so it made sense to finish the drawers, etc...

Great build I did the same last year and purchased the infil track to slide in to give me a completely flat surface which doubles up as an extra work surface. I also lined up the track with my table saw mitre tracks to allow run through.

The work bench looks great. Definitely tell it's your bench. I try to get thing different colours to help me distinguish them a part. In my tool box at work I have several brands of tools that are different colours and find it easier to locate them.

You mention in the video about offsetting your slides so the screws don't hit each other. Now I have never used this brand of slides but my guess is that they are like other manufactures in that they have additional screw holes on the slide just for this reason.

Thanks Alan. They do have many places you could put them, but I'm kind of anal about liking to put my final screws through the locking holes. I'm also not 100% positive the screws went deep enough to intersect. I figured I'd just be safe, and it wasn't a whole lot of extra work.

6:51 pocket holes 🕳 backwards! 😆 Nice build! Only thing I thought about was making it two pieces split long ways and putting it on wheels so you could unfold and roll it against the wall as a long base cabinet if you needed floor space.

Not a bad idea for the wheels. I'd move it so infrequently though... As for the backwards comment. It is? To me that looks the right way. From the front going away from the edge of the material. Unless you mean b/d it's a drawer box and the pulling stress would be better if you had the screws go through the sides into the front back instead??? If so, I'd agree, except that since these are push to open drawers, they don't get any pulling stress.

Very nice but more important .... functional !!! Great build ! The one thing in my shop that needs to be replaced is my 10" Ryobi Sliding Mitre Saw. The body is just not ridged enough, when cutting thicker material, like 40mm thick, 200mm wide or so, it seems that the grain pulls/pushes the blade askew a little which causes "square issues".

Sounds like you need to by a Ridged :P No..but I've actually never used my miter saw for anything that was a crucial cut. It's always just rough for me...other than things like plywood where there is no problem with that.

Those drawer slides are super cool. I actually really like this design. No wheels though? Look at you in the big shop having stationary tables. Excellent edit... just like always. Although I think your game has moved up with your full-time gig. I did see some sped up stuff there which I don't know if I've ever seen you do before. Love you, man.

Hey Darin...I got some wheels but I haven't installed them yet. I think I will whenever I put a mobile base on the table saw. Until then, it's not going anywhere though :)
