Wow! You were not kidding that the black ink was daunting. When you first applied it I was a little concerned that maybe you meant to use a grey or needed to water it down more before applying. Once you sprayed the black and let it do its thing the magic truly happened! Who says card making videos can’t have you one the edge of your seat!😂 Wonderful take on Lou’s original design. Now can you tell me who Lou is so I can check her out as well? Thanks as always for sharing your work and your stories with us.

But love her. This mixed media card is so cool looking! I love both of them!!! I love distressing, not sure if I'm good at it, but love it. LOL I'm a short and round granny too. Nice to see you try different style of card. While watching i was saying to myself "oh the back ground is too dark and the music symbol is not showing up enough" until you put it on the larger white card base then it completely changed my mind the darkness was taken away from my vision and replaced by a lovely bold frame wonderful transformation im taken back by how my preception changed on this one really enjoyed this thank you chris.

I love this! I sing in a choir and have a lot of musical friends, so like to make cards with a music theme. I really like the look of mixed media but I'm not at all artistic so really need clear instructions. I'm off to watch Lou's video now. I fear it's going to mean buying more supplies, though I will have a go at making my own paste. Like many other of your followers, I had a small, round granny, and have many very fond memories of her. Thanks again, and hope your husband will be completely recovered soon.

Dear Chris, I was rather certain this wouldn't fall in my favorites pile, but, you redeemed yourself with the finished piece. Beautiful! Love your willingness to try a variety of mixed media products and see what you come up with. Love your granny stories. I have many too, as I caught my granny's crafting bug, something we shared until her passing at age 96, and something I'm sharing with my own grand children. Precious, indelible, treasured experiences with both generations. TFS! From Cheryl in AZ

Hi. Great finished project. When I tried this sort of thing I found that the more I added the worse it got and the only thing that saved mine was cutting it up into narrow slices so that there was less of it to look at! 😂 Not the case with with yours though and I love that spray you used and there's so much of it on the paper in your little spray box that I'd feel I'd need to use that in a project, too. Thank you for sharing this super video and have a lovely day.

That was really fun to watch. Gorgeous job. I did watch the original video from Lou and it is inspirational. Can't wait to get home fro the mountains to give a little limited version try of this. Some day you will have to explain to your Canadian friend just what a donkey's age is 😉. Love it as always......
@Chrissieannie Жыл бұрын
Do you know I've no idea where 'donkey's years' derives from. I'll have to investigate!
@Chrissieannie Жыл бұрын
I just looked it up and it seems it may be Cockney rhyming slang for the word YEARS. The expression should be 'Donkey's Ears'. Donkey's ears are quite long so if you wanted to say you hadn't seen someone for a long time, a Cockney would say 'i haven't seen them for donkey's ears.' it's just a theory otherwise I haven't a clue!😁😁😁
@vikijerke621 Жыл бұрын
@@Chrissieannie That completely makes sense. I always thought it was donkey's years but donkey's ears are indeed long. Now I need to research "the bees knees" 😉
@Chrissieannie Жыл бұрын
@@vikijerke621 I have no idea about bees knees maybe I should research that too!😁😁😁
@vikijerke621 Жыл бұрын
@@Chrissieannie So I looked up the bees knees and there are a lot of ideas on origin however this one is the most popular. Originated in 1923, a survivor of a fad around this year for slang terms denoting "excellence" and based on animal anatomy. Other versions that lasted through the century are cat's whiskers (1923), cat's pajamas and cat's meow.
