FYI regarding paper weights : 80lb is a typical “layering” cardstock weight, 110lb is a typical base weight so 140lb is pretty thick. Although I’m not sure if that is a lighter weight watercolor paper or not.

Good evening from Sydney Christine. Con spirito - what a unique sentiment. I can see myself borrowing that one as my husband is a musician and as such has a lot of music minded friends. As for this card, isn't it interesting what an impact seemingly small changes can make? It's a great card. Where is the jumbled alphabet background stamp from please? I find the American system of paper weights quite confusing, "gsm" is much easier. A paper weight conversion chart is quite helpful (most of the time).

The jumbled letters Stamp is by Kaisercraft. Thanks so much for your lovely comment.

Went over to your community page to get a closer look. Not there yet! It really wasn't that bad😂 Better than my effort, my watercolour card wasn't so I've just made a very warped square of card. Also haven't got black soot in oxide (yet) and of course it didn't move at all on my paper. It was fun playing though. My 'rust' did work, so if need be it will cover most of my mess🤣 At least I now know that, that supply of heavy weight card is probably only cartridge paper. A lot of mixed media use small words bit like dynamo type tucked in and around. You might then be able to fit all of congratulations on a card. As with many others I agree with you😂😂 Look forward to your next attempt. Exx

I thought the mixed media card itself was fabulous... but, to my mind, the sentiment let it down. It was overwhelmed by the lovely card! Do you need a sentiment on the front? Could it have been put inside the card instead? It was great to watch you 😊

I figured out that when you are MIXING colors, you want to avoid combining all three primary colors (Red, Yellow, and Blue) if you mix blue with orange (orange is a mix of yellow and red) you end up with mud, because you have all the primaries. Mixing red and purple ( R+B), you're essentially mixing R with more R and some blue...NOT all 3 primaries, so it works. I don't know if this will help. COMBINING colors (like putting colored papers next to each other) is different. Hopefully this will help someone out there.
