There is such a thing called recovery and rotation when using the double team. An initial open guy can appear covered when weak side help rotates. That's why passes must be crisp and quick. If every superstar had this skill, more guys would average double-digit assists. It's not supposed to be an elementary read.

My problem with this game is a simple one, the player models are the correct size and proportion for the most part, but the presence of each player is much larger than what you're actually looking at. In real life, your body only takes up as much space as you see it taking up. In 2k there's an invisible orb surrounding each player that they use to alter shots and gage how you're interacting with other players defensively and stuff. At least that's what it feels like. I'm not a game programmer so I don't know for sure. But I would just hope eventually they can make each player have a realistic presence on the court. Just feels like everyone is taking up about a 3-4 foot radius around them at all times if that makes sense.
