Chris Stapleton is every bit of a Blues musician as he is Country. He's a little bit of every musical genre and yet he is his own sound within them all. He has a rock/blues feeling to a lot of his guitar riffs & runs, but his voice comes in & all bets are off, because nobody else sounds like Chris Stapleton! ❤

@@TJtoho Ever heard the original version of this song? George Jones? ... In my opinion, though, this is one of this very, very rare times that the "cover" or the second version absolutely leaves the original in the dust...Chris just made this song finally come alive...a great as George Jones was...still a True thing that Chris sang the first really, really loved version of this song...haaha! Who are these people downvoting this song? If you don't like Blues or countrified Blues, I get it (but why would you watch this video?). I'm not a fan of country, but I recognize immense talent when I see it. This man writes, plays AND sings his own songs. Do you know how hard it is to just play rhythm guitar while you sing? Chris Stapleton plays lead while singing, and does both incredibly well. These downvoters need to go back to their Britney Spears songs. ;-)

Listening to James brings back happy memories. My son used to play James in the car most mornings on the school run and he and his son (6/7 at the time l believe) used to sing along. My grandson's young male teacher found this pretty amusing when he 'shared' this with the Class!😊 l bet my son would smile too remembering those mornings.😊💕
