I live around the corner from Quakercity, best Triumph, BMW, Ducati dealer around - getting ready to trade in my T120 for the 821 stealth. Your video really helped tip me in favor of the monster. Keep us up to date on your service and costs.

I was considering a Harley 1200 both being around the same price range but the more I looked into what would get with a Ducati the more I realized the bang for my buck I was getting what killed me was when I was told that I needed to pay an extra $150 for my Harley to have a fuel gauge lol!

Good review. Thanks. On other bikes, people pay big money for an exhaust that sounds like the stock 821 exhaust. It looks nice and sounds nice. I'm not sure this mania for an aftermarket exhaust is always justified. If the old exhaust sucks (and most do) then sure. But if it ain't broke, I can think of a lot of things to do with that money.

@Charles I own a 821 2018. Putting an aftermarket exhaust did change my bike completely! Man the sound of the twin engine is so satisfying.

Congrats! What’s the tail tidy brand/ model you got there? And heads up about quad lock, I had it mounted at the exact spot on the handlebar but the arm angled towards center right under the dash(I guess it doesn’t matter which way it’s angled towards). My iPhone XS’s camera focus mechanism failed because of all the vibration around 3rd or 4th ride. I really liked the compactness and form factor of that mount but unfortunately didn’t work.

Congrats man, thx for the review, im taking delivery this Friday of my 2019 Stealth!! so pumped, coming off sportbikes 07' CBR600RR, took a few years off from riding after selling the CBR, so excited. what mirrors are those? Rizoma? and yeah ill eventually do the Termi as well ;) trying to get 3 mods right away, - Evo Tech Rad guard, Evo tech rear peg delete bracket, and Rizoma gas gap... will prob do mirrors at some point. FYI re reg vs Stealth its , adj front forks, DQS up down and of course the matte paint. thx agian, Cheers Dave

Dave that’s great. I’m on board with a few quick mods then bigger parts later. The mirrors are an off brand I found on amazon for the right price, nothing too special.

@@ChrissTrainsandThings well its been just over a month, couldnt be happier! awesome bike for sure, ordered the Ducati Spacers for throttle lol, apparently is a must have w these Ducs, buddy of mine on his V4S said it made huge diff , id certainly prefer the "slop" to not be there my CBR was cable so no slop on that one. Getting Ducati Cover and battery charger prob next month,, another month maybe of riding here then she goes to bed :( cheers man

Dave H yes! Congrats, I’m glad you like it. I’ve got two videos coming out soon. One is an exhaust update and another talks about service and accident that I had 6 weeks ago. Got the bike back this past weekend so I’m glad to be okay and back on the road.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and advice on your bike. I've just bought one of the last of the 821 models here in the UK before they replaced them with the brand new Monster (no designation but 937cc). Waiting on delivery now but it was great to hear some of the little owner details the dealer didn't talk about. You mentioned the heat shield gets hot - any thoughts about replacing it? I see there's a carbon fiber one available, think it would make any difference?
@ChrissTrainsandThings3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I actually did replace it, I have a few other videos of mods that I’ve done to this bike on the channel. You just need to sift though the train videos! I like the carbon one that I added, it certainly doesn’t get as hot as the stock metal one.

Nice video. How you compare it with the Monster 796? In riding in general, confort, ride height, power? It would be a good step foward, or a "too small step", and is better de Monster 1200?
@ChrissTrainsandThings4 жыл бұрын
I’d say ergonomically it’s neck and neck with the 796. The seat is adjustable on the 821 which is nice. The torque on the 821 blows the 796 out of the water. I’ve ridden the 1200 and loved it but thought it was a bit too much bike for my riding style

Where did you get those mirrors? I'm planning on getting this exact one and putting on bar end mirros

I actually got them on amazon. I just searched “bar end mirrors”. The brand is Fenrir. If you find their round ones and click on them you can choose this shape.

How is the 821? Does it feel strong or week in power? Wheelie machine or a tourqe runner?
@ChrissTrainsandThings2 жыл бұрын
Good questions. It’s def tourquey! Keep in mind I was riding a 798 before this one. I will wheelie very easily, I throttled in what I thought was 3rd gear, happened to have Downshifted to second and the wheel came right off the ground.

The only thing more annoying that that excessively heavy and ugly ass exhaust can are the stickers all over that beautiful trellis frame. Easy enough to fix both
