Chris, something I really like about your channel is that you’re not afraid to show mistakes made or self-inflicted problems, like forgetting to install the spring when you were putting the suspension together. That happens to all of us who work on cars where we have to deconstruct a few hours of work and start over from time to time. It shows me that you and your channel are completely genuine and I appreciate that.

@ChrisSullivan69 I definitely did. Some of the most fun I have had in a car was a 03 Cobra. It had Stiegemeier ported blower. That thing was fast as ####, and would scream so loud, haha! I would love to get to drive that fresh sonic blue, haha. She is pretty.

My engine makes the same tapping noise. It’s been doing it for like 3-4 years. The tapping starts and stops like how an a/c compressors clutch engages and disengages. You said it perfectly, it’s like a switch being turned on and off. I figured it was either a lifter or timing chain tensioner losing oil pressure/prime then suddenly regaining pressure/prime.

One trick we used at the Honda dealership when burping/bleeding the coolant system was pulling the coolant temp sensors to decrease the burping process. Just fill the radiator or fill point and with the funnel. The pull the coolant temp sensor. Watch the system burp when the remaining coolant in the funnel goes into the system.

When I built a few sr20det motors you could manually bleed the lifters by sticking a small Allen wrench. You stick it down the top hole and it will let you pump the air out while submerged in oil. Not sure if this works on all lifters but it always helped me and never had any lifter noise on first fires.
