Nothing beats a Brass Band, Spectacular Professional Choir, and a Mighty Pipe Organ to Praise God at a Holy and Sacred Service to celebrate both the birth and resurrection of Jesus Christ The Lord. What is a church a building with people But HE loves you if you will spend some quality time with a chat with Our LORD Oh it could be while you are just sitting enjoying a lemonade. You do not have to speak out loud but hey if you want to go ahead. You have OUR LORD love one another I know you do. SO no need to prepare no need for fancy prayers just open your mind to HIM I bet you will in justa few moments have tears running down your face, you voice is choked with emotion and you will truly feel HE is with you. Do you think HE loves when a cathedral say in LA built over 1.1 BILLION US$ in the poorest section of LA is what HE WANTS> Or how about the old stone and wood church our ancestors went with, no fancy stained glass windows, no carvings etc. I say to more people and mind you I am entering my 50th yrs as an ordained Catholic Priest, not bragging, that GOD, JESUS and the HOLY GHOST (SPIRIT) is always with us, just a thought away. So if you have worries, anything talk to HIM and put your and worries in HIS hands, and remember W W J D (What Would JESUS DO), follow WWJD and I betcha 10 out of 10 times you will make the right call. So church is not mandatory its nice and grand to sing and be part of the larger family, but if for some reason you cannot make it in person, you can watch many Services on TV or even You Tube. But the best gift to give HIM and Yourself, is that quality time speaking with HIM. HE knows what is in your mind but HE wants to hear it in your words, not some priests, ministers sermon and prayers. Just speak to HIM as you would your Dad, Big Brother, Uncle, Best Friend. I do believe you will find great comfort. May you always know HIS LOVE and GRACES and that HE is always with us Jesus said this as HE went to the Father....for lo I shall be with you always even unto the end of the world (time) Pax+

I’m not even a Rutter fan, but this particular performance is so spot on. Plus there’s the handbell intro which really sets it apart. This church performed this arrangement without the handbell intro ten years after this, but it wasn’t anywhere near as powerful or tight. The variety of instruments heard is impressive.

I listened to a recording of this church performing this song 10 years after this in 2017, played the Rutter arrangement, but no handbells which are the Metzger arrangement which is coupled to the Rutter. It didn’t sound anywhere near as spirited as the 2007 performance. The difference in tones of the horns is significant, definitely brighter and “tighter” in 2007.
