Its weird that you think such thing exists I've yet to come across an ow player that introduces themselves as a mercy hater But I did come across ow players that introduced themselves as mercy worshippers and fanatics (I assumed the were exaggerating at first but their behavior after made that thought evaporate real quick)

To a degree, you are right. But there are other times the cooldowns deploy late and you still die & is wasted. I’ve had my share of late suzus and lamps on my corpse. Rez on the other hand (if mercy didn’t die) completely erases the mistake that “you got taken out” and not “ you could’ve gotten taken out”

While one can be salty because they don't pick what one were hoping is fine, as long as one keep that salt to themselves, it doesn't give the right to take it out on the players though. "Hating" one or more characters in the game is fine, but hating the players for playing a video game character they like is not. Some people like to play less aim intensive characters and that's completely fine. :)

Im gonna be honest here, the argument that mercy players cant take criticism is just not true. I mean if your definition of criticism is calling a hero noskill, being WEIRDLY sexist or never taking anything a mercy player says seriously, as well as making a mercy mafia "joke" every 2 sentences, then sure. Its not funny, its not cute, its just annoying. thats my 2 cents. criticism is different from making fun of someone. a lot of people dont seem to get that and it really irks me

Idk I said this on reddit I don't hate mercy players. Rez and GA make me salty, but that's only because I have seen them go for stupid resurrections and get away with it. Don't get me wrong. That must be very funny for the mercy player. For context, I quit comp after season one in OW 2. I was diamond on support and basically unranked on the others. I didn't have any friends to play comp with, and honestly, I don't feel the need to see a number go up or down at the end of games. I play a lot of quickplay and arcade ( I have beaten all the battle passes up to at least level 80 with the exception of last seasons so I do play the game) because my friends like those modes and honestly i'm 24 and just over competitive in games in general. The reason Rez annoys me is because there is alot of counterplay to allow the rez to happen (walls, bubbles or people simply not guarding bodies and a bunch more) but not a lot of counter play against it. Basically, only tanks have stuns, and while some other characters have knockback, sometimes that's not enough if it's started. I liked it in the community patch where the player was bought back to life for 10 seconds then had almost a instant respawn after that but in the normal game negating a kill in what a 1.5second cast time? I think it's literally shorter than certain characters reload animation if I recall correctly or pretty close, at least. Then instantly being able to fly away is annoying to see. I'm going to get killed for this lol but in my opinion, it would be nice if GA was on calldown for a few seconds after rez. I would be happy with other compensating buffs, but I think if they had to stay with the target for a few seconds, it would encourage more team play. I want to repeat that I don't hate the players, though. They're playing a character in a game, and they're having fun. That's no reason for me to even dislike them. I love games, and if you're enjoying a game, that's good enough for me. And people didn't appreciate it.

hate me for saying it but i think lifeweavers pull is a better ability power wise then mercy rez, like you can say that rez makes you feel like shit cause now you got to kill the mfer again but rez isnt as strong as you think

Rez may be weak, but Lifegrip is just awful. A good rez -- rare as they may be -- can win a teamfight. A "good" pull does nothing. At best it maybe saves one person from death, but there are other abilties that are much better at doing that. I love weaver but lifegrip is a scourge on his kit.

saving bringing a person back into the match and likely shifting the power of the fight to your team is a worse ability than pulling out someone most likely the tank, taking them out of their position on the front lines defending the team can completely throw a fight even if it save your tank simply bc they r no longer in a position they set up with the cooldowns they r planning out. so many tanks hate grip especially bc of this. but pulling off a risky rez on the same tank even if you die could swing the fight so drastically

Okay so the issue with Mercy is not her raise considering there's abilities like Lifeweaver's grip, Kiriko's suzu, Ana's nade and Bap's no kill zone. Mercy is one of the weakest characters in the game and is only ever valuable thanks to her dmg boost but even then you have to remember that Mercy herself doesn't really do damage on her own. Sure you have the occasional pistol moment but 9/10 games you'd be 95% using your staff doing 0 - 500 damage. Damage boost in a good game can bring you 3-4k damage boosted while some supports out there can do 9k-10k in a good, long match. Damage boost isn't breaking the game considering you have 1 less damage dealer. Raise also is an ability that's 7/10 times completely useless cause you can't risk the raise due to it's long cast time. If anything the strongest part of Mercy's kit is her movement but that alone isn't enough to compensate for the other extremely strong support heroes that we have in the game.

Ana Bap isnt as mobile as kiriko, and when playing with a mercy over a lucio brig it means the ana/bap die a lot more compared to kiriko with her tp.

Inserting my opinion: I think that mercy is a decent character, if the person doesnt know how to play her she will die and she will fail the team but like i feel most players who don’t like her just havent encountered enough actually good mercy’s, she like a lifeweaver where if you don’t know how to play him you WILL do horribly cause wasting even one of his abilities during an important team fight will pretty much gaurantee the death of the player or teammate.
