Have you seen the cat tails were on the "hot dog" part, they use pipe, and fuller the ends shut and then weld on the stem at the transition. It would possibly be quicker.

+Alexander Clapham the brass brush is a barbecue grill brush. I bought this particular one at a yard sale. I believe the name brand is Grill craft

Place a piece of lean between you and the camera. The spatter won't stick to the Lexington as quickly as it will glass and it will provide a barrier between the work and the camera. I have experienced the spark in the ear before. It will definitely make you jump, and not for joy. Nice piece, very elegant.
