I have been suffering from a hoarse voice problem for a very long time, almost since childhood. When I consulted a doctor, he did a laryngiscopy test and said that I have vocal nodules and I will have to undergo surgery. He said Voice therapy will not work on me because of long history of your problem. What should I do?

@@shivam208 hi It’s always worth getting a second ENT opinion. Make sure it’s an Emanate who specialises in Voice - a laryngologist. If that doctor also agrees, then surgery might be the best option. Sometimes ENTs call polyps nodules also which can be confusing and polyps are usually treated surgically rather than just therapy so if you get a second opinion ask for a clear diagnosis too I hope that helps

@ChristellaAntoni I was very scared of the surgery and Luckily I went to a big government hospital, where the ENT specialist himself did my laryngoscopy again and then he told me that you do not have vocal nodules but you have phonetic gap and now you should take voice therapy and then I was sent to a voice therapist, he told me to do vocal exercises for at least 2.15 hours ( 45 min , 3 times a day ) every day and told me that you will have to keep doing these exercises for 5 to 6 months continuously and after every 20 days you will have to get your voice checked by a voice therapist.. Thank you 🙏

@@ChristellaAntoni If you can suggest me any specific vowel exercises to solve the problem of phonetic gaps (which will help me improve quickly) then please let me know.

For how long of suffering I should go to ENT doctor??

@@rahidul_alam811 Hi after three weeks of hoarseness in the voice, you need to see an ENT doctor who specialises in voice issues - a laryngologist

I’ve had issue for 2 years going on 3? My vocal range has improved compared to when I first realized there was an issue. Is there a chance to regain it fully without surgery?
@ChristellaAntoni11 күн бұрын
@@Riahteylor Hi Im not sure what your voice issue is or whether you have been recommended surgery? . If your range is improving, and the issue is a benign one , you can carry on working on your range . The important first step however is to get your larynx looked at by an ENT doctor who specialises in voice and then you will know the reason for the voice issue abd whether any further medical assistance is required

@ I went back to the ENT, turns out I no longer have nodules on my vocal cords! I was recommended to do regular vocal exercises and a nasal spray for allergies that may be causing an issue too
