I didn’t mention this in the video, but the things I go over in this video are not arguments for Gods existence (in the general sense). If you’re interested in looking into that, a good place to start is the cosmological argument, fine-tuning of the universe, and how morality points to God.
@justicejericho97

Cosmological argument, fine-tuning of the universe, and how morality points to God have all been debated to death to the point those arguments are pretty meaningless. Believing in those arguments are just that, beliefs, not based on science or morality.

@@justicejericho97 Science is a load of crap though. Scientists are just saying ''we can become gods'', and ''everything is by accident'', how does that make any sense? Morality is also not found in other religions or the world, not even in law, or other places. The highest ''morality'' is found from our Heavenly FATHER and HIS laws, decrees, bible, etc.

@lieutenantcolumbo114

@Justice Many scientists said that billions and billions of years ago, there was nothing, it was total nothingness. Suddenly, big bang and there was the earth, nature, then human beings. But How could nothing have created all this? I mean everything is perfect, in harmony, the human body is perfect, woman and man complement each other perfectly, nature is perfect, everything is done to make us happy and satisfied. But you agree that you can't have all of this with nothing and that nothing couldn't create all of this. This is one of the proofs that God really exists. You can't have all of this out of thin air. It is that there was a celestial and benevolent power to create all this.

My reason is simple.. I feel his presence, I feel him in my life.. that’s all I need.. I don’t need more evidence, books, science, astral things.. and complicate things more than they need to.. once you know YOU KNOW.. all you gotta do is GENUINELY accept him.. and you’ll feel his presence

I think it is good (as the bible says) to give an answer for the hope that is in us and that also goes with providing evidence when needed but especially just in our personal growth it is such a wonderful thing to dig deeper in to God's word. Just giving a thought it is amazing to feel His presence.

This was really well done. Having found God myself through reason (the Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe or CTMU, which I highly recommend) and subsequently the belief that Yeshua was indeed the foretold Messiah, I respect all those who, through dedicated reasoning, find faith. "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD" (Isaiah 1:18)

I think peoples intellectual conclusion or ideological shift to being a ‘believer’ is very multi-faceted. Belief exists as a complex web tangled in the human psyche. My personal belief consists of: -Personal Experience (Prayer, Dreams, consequences of my own Sin) - Asceticism vs Maximalism, (This relates to the problem of evil, pure maximalism always leads to everything being justified.) [I would ironically recommend Nietzsche’s critique on Christianity “The Genealogy of morals”. This book made my faith in Christ stronger due, he talks mostly on asceticism as a slave morality and promotes maximalist power fantasy that I could not get behind at all.] -Metaphysical and Ontological understanding of the world, specifically with language as the most obvious anchor between the metaphysical and matter. This also (after much extrapolation 😂) proves matter does contain meaning. -Transcendental arguments for God (TAG) [Related to Meta-Physics] -Non-Direct! Empirical & Evidential reasons for gods existence. (Mostly archeological discovery’s that are accurate with scripture, and obviously the historical fact Christ was a man who walked this earth) [It is important to realise belief in God cannot be sourced directly from empirical sense data, God exists outside the realm of mere matter. You cannot prove god with the Scientific method directly. -Other (Bible obviously, prophecy, analysis of world around me. Writings of the early church fathers, the Orthodox Church in general. The beautiful blue sky, the genius of nature and all of earth biodiversity!) Ultimately you cannot watch a video or read a book and suddenly gain that knowledge of God based on somebody else’s experience, this will usually only happen from personal experience. I would still encourage you too seek God, try to humble yourself, repentance is very important as we continually grow a deeper understand of the sickness of our own soul, we are drawn closer to God. I would look into and study Sin and Evil, and see how you fit into this picture. Learn the history of Christianity and it’s denominations. (Hint - Christianity is not a western tradition) Lord Jesus Christ Son of God have mercy on me a sinner ☦️ Please pray for me❤🙏

P1. 1.Reliability of the bible. It's not historically 100% accurate (luke's census, start there), it's not scientifically accurate (talking donkey, talking snake, sun stopping in the sky, man living in fish, races of giants...), and the bible isn't ethically accurate (god is love and does genocide multiple times to start). 2. A. The book of John is from around 90 AD, meaning 33 year old Jesus was dead for nearly 60 years! Mark around 70 years, Matthew also around 70, and luke around 85. Paul's letter were started around 48 ad? B. Claiming no other ancient text would also be unreliable or less reliable is a logical fallacy (composition?). 3. More manuscripts don't mean it's correct or more likely to be true/pure. Start believing in the Gospel of Mary because we have multiple manuscripts. It's the apocrypha. 4. Reliable P2: find me 5 eyewitnesses for the miracles from outside the bible. 5. Troy exists in Homer's odyssey, Ithaca existed? The trojan war existed? Olympus Still exists? Historical fiction definitely exists.

As a historian, I can tell you that very little of the Bible (particularly the Old Testament) is supported by physical evidence or cross referenced in any other written accounts. Many Bible stories that we’re familiar with as Christians are not mentioned anywhere else other than the Bible itself and therefore can not be considered “real history” by secular historians. And that’s okay. That’s what faith is for. You shouldn’t need physical proof to maintain your faith, that defeats the whole purpose.

@@PropheticProgression “Loads” is hyperbolic. There’s some. Mainly evidence that corroborates the existence of specific people and locations, not of spiritual acts or godly miracles. I have a friendly question about the first points in this video, I'd address everything, but I'd be typing for days. How do they know it was a 50 year distance? This is of course assuming already that the story is true. If the first "copy" was in fact not a copy, but a fiction, then the distance between that copy and the fiction of the "original" is arbitrary. The existence of a copy of something does not mean that the contents or the original are "true" just like in if 2,000 years in the future people forgot the history and context of LOTR, discovered copies dating back to 2400, then assumed everything in it was true. Likewise, if 400 or 500 copies of LOTR were found, why would that indicate the contents were true? As opposed to the story being popular? I guess my overall point being, I didn't hear any arguments for Christianity being true just because there were copies, and the time between the copies and the autographs were short. There is a difference between a copy being a reliable copy of an autograph, and the existence of an autograph neccessarily meaning the contents are true. You presented no arguments in the first point about why the autograph is true, other than that copies exist. Also, to claim the copies didn't change is untrue, almost every iteration of the Bible has differences, both in theological ideas and facts. And more specifically, the Catholic Church held dozens of councils to amend or change or the contents of the Bible. Also, translators often imprint their own bias and ideas into a translation, which has been demostrated by both Christian and Athiest scholars.
@justicejericho97

Point two: Many works of fiction incorporate real facts. It doesn't make the fiction real. That quote doesn't make intellectual sense.

What about all of the contemporary sources that do not corroborate the story of the New Testament? You use extra accounts as proof of accuracy for the Bible, but ignore the accounts written at the same time which deny and reject what those texts claimed. So again, the argument relies on pre-existing belief in order to strengthen it, but as an argument and as proof of reliability of the truth of the Bible, it's not even close to being a legitimate argument or proposition. You can't just accept the information which confirms your belief and reject/ignore information that contradicts it.

@@justicejericho97 heyy! About the copies and the time between them, I think shes not trying to say that just because its close it shows certainly that its the truth. She said that according to studies the accuracy of a document is usually higher when the copies are made close to the original one. She never used it as a argument of confirmation, but more like evidence. Your questions are valid for sure,but its also nice to remember that christianity is mostly based on faith, so it isnt science nor human knolegde that will prove any of it,but its deep in our hearts, and sometimes we just "know" that its true. Hope it helped ! Forgive my poor english

P3. 1.One of Josephus' writings was added after his death if I remember correctly. 2.Humiliation doesn't mean true. It wasn't humiliation, according to the bible it was god's plan. Look into the "Book of Abraham". 3. When did the women testify? 4. An empty grave isn't proof of a resurrection , it's an empty tomb. Part of Einstein's brain is missing...! 5. We're trusting documents written 50 years after the death on others preaching after Jesus died. Look into William Canby and his story of his grandmother Betsy Ross. 6. Martin Harris (mormonism) GENUINELY believed that he was the plates with his "spiritual eye" (how you see a village on the other side of the mountain), and also GENUINELY believed he was the devil... It was in the form of a farm animal. Genuinely believing those things doesn't mean they're any more true.

I've heard from doctors who were atheists on general anesthetic (not meant to be able to dream at all) who were brain dead with no heart beat able to tell the doctors and nurses working on them exactly what they were doing and saying while they were in this state as well as the lay out of the room or things happening in other rooms or places at the same time. There's no explanation in current science anywhere close to explaining this.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that you can't dream on anesthesia, but a simple Google search says otherwise
@Tom_McMurtry
@Tom_McMurtry Жыл бұрын
@@user-qw6me8dp4w While under general anesthesia, you are in a drug-induced unconsciousness, which is different than sleep. Therefore, you will not dream. However, if you are under a nerve block, epidural, spinal or local anesthetic, patients have reported having pleasant, dream-like experiences. People don't dream under general anesthesia but they do dream upon "waking up" from general anesthetics.

Many scientists said that billions and billions of years ago, there was nothing, it was total nothingness. Suddenly, big bang and there was the earth, nature, then human beings. But How could nothing have created all of this perfection? I mean everything is perfect, in harmony, the human body is perfect, woman and man complement each other perfectly, nature is perfect, everything is done to make us happy and satisfied. "Us the non satisfied" But we can agree that it's impossible to have all of this with nothing and that nothing couldn't create all of this. This is one of the proofs that God really exists. It's not possible to have all of this out of thin air. It is that there was a celestial and benevolent power to create all this. God is everything.

Not sure what planet you live on but there’s nothing perfect about Earth. People die from disasters both natural and man-made every day. Just as people’s bodies are riddled with cancer and women die in childbirth every day. There is no perfection. We’re all suffering together. Perhaps that suffering can be mitigated by faith but that’s all.

With arguments for any god, always check out counter apologetics. . She lists three arguments in the comments, let's start with morality: "BUY YOUR SLAVES FROM THE NATIONS AROUND YOU, YOU MAY KEEP THEM FOR LIFE... DON'T TREAT THE ISRAELITES RUTHLESSLY - LEv 25:44-46 God telling how to buy slaves, own slaves.... For all the good messages that Jesus preaches, I can point out 5 terrible things god ordered. Examples stoning your bride, GENOCIDE, beating slaves, taking away land from people that aren't Jewish (by force).... cosmological arguments (Kalam for example) can have tricky wording like adding the word creator creator, and it usually uses "god of the gaps". Causes don't always mean a god caused them. --Try looking into Meteorites and how 5 building blocks of life can be found on them. fine-tuning of the universe, aka the watchmaker. For some reason the bible leaves out things like evolution (dolphins having feet is a place to start), telling why the big bang makes sense to scientist, or even that lightning isn't thrown by zeus.

I've noticed that. The more fundamentally Christian someone is to their core, the more they seem to reflect it on the outside, in a variety of ways. I have met some truly beautiful young Christian ladies since becoming a believer myself. I think it's because the faith encourages balance, discipline and a healthy lifestyle and helps remove a variety of stresses and anxieties from the minds of its adherents. That makes us look healthier overall, which makes us look more attractive. I've even seen and heard of people who used to be addicted to meth, crack and heroin who look and act healthier after following Christ faithfully for long enough. The change is real, because the Holy Spirit is real. If the Holy Spirit is real, that means Jesus is real, which means God is real. I don't require a lot of convincing after what I've witnessed with my own two eyes!

@@dudahv. God bless you but I do not regret my approach. I felt convicted to speak the truth and I take no word back. Muslims think that we do not take our faith seriously as they don't see us arguing for it with any zeal. You cannot convince a Muslim of the truth without a convicting word that may seem offensive to an outsider. There is no one approach that fits all, we must be all things to all people. To talk with Muslims we must understand how Muslims think, to speak with JWs likewise, and Mormons etc. We have authority to know what we believe is the truth, we must speak up and prove it to those who doubt our conviction.

Part 4: 1. Points for you to pointing out 9/11 and how people die for false beliefs. Do we have proof that any of the apostles died because of telling people (roman records). 2. Saul on the road was written in luke-acts (80-90 ad). Is it written about anywhere else? 3. A man who did say things like Jesus (the golden rule) Confucius (551-479 BCE)! There are more than just demons, fools, and holy people in life. 4.If god is love he wouldn't have actually made a hell or used his wrath. 5. Those are talking about Jesus/ and the Abrahamic God. We know of many gods, and many different different forms of creation stories (including mud and magic of greek mythology!). For some reason she ignores all of the other religions, like the first one god religion... Mithraism! Off topic: The old testament tells people to kill the infidels twice in Deuteronomy! Off topic 2: Beating with rods and stoning were both acceptable in god's eyes! #godislove Off topic 3: With faith (Hebrews 11:1) you can believe in anything, including Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, pink fairies....
