@@MaybeGodPodcast Hi! As someone from a Soviet culture (now an immigrant in the USA) I believe that the resurrection was staged by the Romans, as explained in a popular book where I'm from - "The Gospel of Afranius"; like many others, I read it in childhood and never thought about this question again - until coming to the USA and noticing a stark contrast in the discussion of this question. What's wrong with that explanation?? I'm confused, what am I missing here?.. (This work was praised in "Nature", skeptical biblical scholar Carlos Colombetti called it "a worthy addition to the set of naturalistic hypotheses that have been proposed", and apologist Lydia McGrew grudgingly acknowledged that it is "consistent with the evidence".)

I am glad you saw this truth I am very glad. If you knew how much I desire that the house of Isra'el gets to know the truth of their saviour, that it was Yehoshua whom they had crucified with their own hands. If indeed they know this truth, and accept it, the blood of the saviour which indeed they claimed to be upon them, will really be upon them, but this time not unto judgement/condemnation, but unto salvation and redemption; which indeed Yehoshua came for. I imagined most of the time as the Apostle Paul wrote, that if the downfall of the Jews brought about the salvation of the Gentiles, how much more will their rising be? Indeed it will be even as potent as the resurrection of the dead. I long for the days of the rising and the recognition of the house of Isra'el unto their saviour and our saviour Yehoshua ha Mashiyach. Shalom. 🤍

I’m Jewish as well with modern orthodox leanings and I find it to be interesting that in Torah in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 24:16 it teaches that a man may not be put to death for the sin of another man so how can Mashiach be a human sacrifice sin offering dying for sinful humanity? Not only that but repeatedly in the servant songs in Yeshayahu (Isaiah) chapters 41 to 55 HaShem calls Israel his servant so how can Isaiah 53 be about Mashiach when Israel is the servant of HaShem and it’s about the suffering servant? In the Hebrew it even says in Isaiah 53 ‘’nega lamo’’ meaning ‘’a blow to us’’

The part I find very interesting was the suffering of the witnesses. Today we have people wondering why God would allow suffering in the world if He is so loving, and yet if these people didnt suffer for God we would not have this solid historic foundation for Jesus resurrection. God works through pain, and not all pain is bad. This is hard to understand for those who think only pleasure can be good. Pain can make us grow strong and in God’s hand it can be a blessing. It’s not all about us personally, we must think of how our trials can benefit others. Love God above all else and our neighbor as ourselves.
@shwanjalal8709

You say not all pain is bad. And that god works through pain. Nobody thank god for cancer otherwise we wouldnt have cancer research. Nobody says thank god for racism otherwise we wouldnt have had MLK. Nobody says thank god for hitler otherwise we wouldn’t know totalitarian governments dont work well. Nobody says thank god for all the hundreds of millions of people who have died because of war, mostly in the name of god ofc, otherwise we wouldn’t have peace. Nobody says thank god for illness, disease, and sickness otherwise we wouldn’t have doctors. Nobody says thank god for depression otherwise we wouldn’t have therapy. Nobody says thank god for rapists, murderers, and thieves otherwise we wouldn’t have prisons. Nobody says thank god for the killing of thousands of native Americans through manifest destiny otherwise we wouldn’t have 50 states in the US. Im not saying these things to bash you, Im sure you have good intentions. However if you were in Palestine right now and your kids died because of war due to human greed, you would have a very different opinion about god buddy. Your god allows so much suffering in this world for no reason, and its up to us, as good humans to clean up after the suffering that the so called “all loving and all powerful god” allows to happen in this world.

And there it is. The most obvious point of them all. We fear death and would love the idea that it is not the end. No I would never do such thing, infact, if i was at a childrens cancer ward i would tell them that they will go to heaven and be happy in paradise. Because i would rather lie and have them be happy in their last moments than be sad. But Im telling yall this because I would hope, presumably that yall are adults, that you can take a hit of reality better than a 6 year old child with cancer. So I have chosen my words not only carefully, but also towards an appropriate audience. And I say all of this with nothing but love in my heart for people, because we all deserve truth and we deserve to truly appreciate every living moment that we have.

@SPL0869 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 You've already stated you have a concept of the difference between right and wrong. May I ask where you acquired it? Could it have been your Judeo-Christian upbringing that familiarized you with the Ten Commandents or the final two divine Commandements of Yeshua, "to love God above all else and your neighbor as yourself." One can not keep these two commandments without obeying the first ten. "Train up a child in the ways he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."-Proverbs 22:6 If this is the case maybe like me the Lord will bless you with the years to outgrow your faithlessness. Or He may have hardened you heart that you will never seek His grace, forgiveness and salvation. That is not for me to say but between you and your Lord. I pray that if this is the case, He softens your spirit and brings you back to the fold through His Immaculate Heart and the redemption of His grace. That my friend is all the earthly or heavenly power I can offer you. May peace, prosperity and salvation find you in this New Year. God Bless you and yours!

If I were to ask you to demonstrate the authenticity of these verses in a real time real life situation, could you do it? Every time I ask for a demonstration(using your own verses), I get excuses about “context” much like what you’re trying to give right now. @@SPL0869 Hello, and thanks for your reply. Why would you ask me to do it? The actual miracle works come from God. In the bible, there are examples of God giving man access to those abilities. But the ownership of those comes from God. Miracles are still happening in the world. However, they're not making mainstream news. Therefore, if God gives you or me the ability (calls us to do it), yes, we would be able to walk in there and do it. God has a divine order. Although He can do any and everything, there has to be a process and a purpose. Everything God created or that's involved with God's divine nature and order, has a process and a purpose. This means that some things will happen or not happen. Miracles are interjected within the process and or for the purpose of... The Bible teaches various types of miracles. Some received immediate miracles, others suffered many years before receiving their miracles, and for some, Jesus said, "Don't tell anyone." You can ask God for those abilities. Many unbelievers were once believers. I was one of them, although never a fervent evangelical. If you dig down through all of the hyperbole of Strobel here, there is not much that really stands up to proper investigation. The thing that never ceases to amaze me are the huge doctrinal and theological differences between various Christians, many extremely contradictory. It's sometimes difficult to define exactly what Christians actually believe. The one thing they all have in common is that they all think that they are right and the others are wrong. Interesting that Strobel states that there is no such thing as a mass hallucination. Why has he never heard of the Miracle of Fatima from 1917, and a number of other examples. Whatever, your opinion on what these groups of people actually saw, it certainly does not support Strobel's assertions. Interesting that the psychologist that he consulted about group hallucinations, first gives a supposedly professional opinion, and in the next breath is preaching about Paul's claim that 500 saw the risen Jesus. The odour of a rodent doth tickle mine nostrils, methinks.

Outstanding work by Lee. It takes a unique, open mind to only deal with facts and continue seeking facts while being skeptical. Many kudos to Lee for absorbing the detailed information he found while processing it in a way that laymen can easily understand. That is the fundamental challenging aspect of what Lee did. He gathered indisputable facts and could defend what he found with extreme accuracy. Some say it all comes down to simply believing. But only a fool ignores the facts or tries to misrepresent them. Thank you, Lee, for bringing this information to the surface. Jesus died in a horrible way to save so many souls. Mine is one of them.

Also how or why would science be able to explain why or how a person would sacrifice his life for salvation of all? This is the dumbest argument ever. It's not the duty of science to explain wild assertions that you make. Science simply is a body of the most plausible explanations of phenomena backed up by evidence. What is scientific today may not be so tomorrow when we have better evidence. Only way to prove the existence of your god is through supernatural acts not unlike the ones Jesus did specific so that the people would believe

: Absolutely not. ! One can - and the early Christians did - believe in the resurrection without believing that Jesus is God in the flesh. Indeed, the first Cristians believed, not that Jesus was God incarnate, but that he was the promised messiah, the Christ, the Son of God. (Mat 16:16). Jesus and his disciples worshipped he God of israel, the God of the Bible. Jesus himself tells us that he has a God. The resurrected Jesus has a God. (JOhn 20 :17). The glorified Jesus in heaven itself, still has a God. (Re 3 :12). Hundreds of times in the NT Jesus is differentiated from God. . He is resurrected from the dead by God. (Acts 2 :24, 32). He is made both Lord and Christ by God. (Acts 2 : 36). He is given or granted all autority by God. (John 5 :27) The Son did not always p;ossess life in imself but it was gramted to him (John 5 :26) The evidence is overwhelming : The claim of the gospels is : Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. This claim makes him one other than God.

Yes, you established that Jesus is the second of the Trinity, and He is the Son Of God , but the Bible also He WAS God . This is one of the core tenets of Christianity ( I’m not sure if you were aware of that) Jesus’disciples asked Him to show them the Father. He declared “ Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father “ - John 14:9 on another occasion Jesus said “ I and the Father are ONE “-John 10:30 . Yes, Jesus was both Full God and

And Fully Man( continued from previous post) , because of this He alone has the authority to be our Savior and to forgive our sins. Now go to the Gospel of John. . Chapter one verse one “ In the Beginning was the WORD, and the Word was with God, and the WORD WAS God . But who WAS the Word? Look at verse 14 of chapter one. Jesus was the WORD. (14) The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us . Verse one clearly tells us that the Word was God. We’ve established that Jesus was the Word so we can therefore correctly say “ Jesus IS God “ Now look at Joh 10:30 again “ I and my Father are one “ (verse 31) Then the Jews took stones again to stone Him.(32) and Jesus answered them ; “ I have shown you many great works and miracles from the Father, for which of these do you stone me .(33) we are not stoning you for any of these replied the Jews, But for Blasphemy, because you, a mere man , claim to be God “ did you get that? Let me ask you a question. What was the official charge against Jesus? Why did they want to kill him ? It was Blasphemy- claiming to be God , that was not only a serious sin( one of the worst if not THE worst sin for a Jew) and a crime punishable by death.. so yes Jesus did claim to be God . There are a lot of other verses that say Jesus referred to himself as God but for the sake of time I will have to post them later because I have to go now . Take care and God bless you .

@@danielfortonforton223 : The Trinity is a post-apostolic teaching that did not take its final form for hundreds of years. Many standard reference works freely admit this. The gospels claim that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. This actually makes him one other than God. Jesus is differentiated from God hundreds of times in the NT. John 14 :9 shoukld be understood in the context of the NT. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God. and is desribed as 'the image of God (Col 1 :15; Heb 1 :3). However, being the image of God or a reflection of God does not make him God, rather a representation. He is certainly NOT the Father in Trinitarian understanding. Likewise, he is 'One' with the father in exactly the same way as the disciples are (John 17 :21-23)

Well how many were present during the crucifixion since we have these numbers. The disciples claiming to have witnessed the resurrected Jesus and then lived a miserable life because of it is their problem. If they were so willing to suffer they should’ve done more to protect him in the first place.. I know it’s all stories but based on the story that’s just my little two cents. To each his own. Hi!

I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

The interesting thing is the fact that there were any stories at all. We have only the Bible but all the gospels and epistles were in circulation 30-40 years after the resurrection. If there was no resurrection the story alone wouldn’t have been enough to get the faith growing as it did. Shalom

Another way to prove the veracity of Jesus Christ's life, death, and resurrection, is to follow his teaching. Anyone who prays righteously, in his name, is sure to feel the enormous weight of gravity lifting gently off their broken health in a repairing way...enough to make us keep praying, and hoping and worshiping him, and what he stands for.

Prayer has been studied many times and the results are that it works at the same statistical rate as pure chance. But don't just take my word for it go do some research on the statistics of prayer yourself. If you pray to the half empty milk carton in your fridge it remarkably answers prayers at the same statistical rate as God. Try it, test it yourself. Sometimes the milk carton appears to have answered your prayer Sometimes it's unclear And sometimes it doesn't. Half empty milk cartons work in mysterious ways, but if you have faith that the carton always knows what's best even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it at the time, you'll be just fine. We may not always agree with the milk carton answer but it has its reasons and you just can't see its master plan with your tiny human limited brain. Keep the faith in that carton, it'll all make sense, it'll all be explained one day. (when you're dead and brain no longer functions 😂)

Why would God not heal my dad? Forget about healing it would be fantastic if he could atleast send an angel to say hi to my dad and that this is someting that he must go through for whatever grand plan God has for him. Moreover this disease is known to be passed In many cases to children and I am now seeing symptoms in my body. I pray a bunch even though I am an agnostic which so much anxiety and desperation regarding my future since I am still young. I don't even want healing a simple hello from God or his numerous angels would do just fine. Yes you can. There's no factual evidence for any of the miraculous tales in the Bible. The four gospels are not eyewitness accounts. Is it more likely that these stories were based on the common myths of virgin births and dying and rising gods that were common in these days, and many anteceded Christianity (ancient Egypt being an example)? That would make a lot more common sense. Of course common sense has nothing to do with religious belief.

Yes, there are no eyewitness accounts, nor are there any contemparenous accounts of Jesus. Apologists are just being disingenuous or ignorant. The earliest Christian document known to us is Paul's first letter to the Thessalonians, from around 50AD. He makes no reference to the details of the resurrection (tomb etc). Paul makes that spurious "500 witnesses" claim found nowhere else, and he doesn't say who any of these people were, or where they allegedly saw Jesus. But apologists misunderstand scripture. They think it deals with historical facts. It doesn't, especially the gospels and Paul's letters. They are preaching tools for early Christians. They deal with meaning more than fact. In fact, apologists belittle these works by literalising them, and alleging they are factual; the authors would not have meant them to be. It's not how ancient writers worked.

Death is actually just an illusion... 😋 So, yeah, God can't die but Jesus was God so he did die, but also he didn't cuz death isn't really real. And it's that way for all life, because life itself is Eternal, and God, so good news! We didn't need Jesus for eternal life, by being life we already get it....yay!!! 🙌

Like what? A photo? A skeleton? You know that at the end of the story Jesus was still alive and went to heaven right? So a skeleton of jesus would actually be a nail on the christian coffin or at leadt what christian believed on the oqdt 2000 years

@@jerrylanglois7892 And I just suppose that every biblical scholar in the world, and I'm talking about the atheists here, are all wrong? There are numerous writings outside the bible that talk about Jesus. The writings of Tacitus corroborate that Jesus was executed by the Romans in the first century during the rule of Tiberius by order of Pontius Pilate.

@brettlarkin1992 what? Noone has said anything mean or hateful or anything. It took me many years of trying to find faith and at one point I was certain it wasn't for me and that it was all nonsense then I had a real personal experience with Jesus Christ and it flipped my life upside down. So the resurrection of Christ actually happened? The four Gospels each record the event of finding the empty tomb. Why do none of them match? They don't agree on who was there, what happened there and what followed next. Also, if Jesus really did come back. Why did he not show Himself to the Romans, or the Jewish Priests at the temple? That would have made more sense.

How does this invalidate everything he said, he is speaking historical irrefutable facts
@genome616
@genome616 11 ай бұрын
You need educating, nothing he said adds any weight to whether the bible is true, he ultimately has to use the bible to prove the bible which in any court would fail as it is a logical fallacy, simply saying or even demonstrating you cannot survive crucifixion and scientifically backing it up does not prove a dead person rose again, you will not find any historical irrefutable evidence nor will you find any modern demonstrable evidence to show you can return from the true death and this is the whole context you miss, your ideology has given you confirmation bias and you have lost your logical reasoning.

Wasn’t it Thomas that was the skeptic that had to put his hands in Jesus’ crucifixion wounds to believe? And when he did he was no longer a skeptic? That there shows me it wasn’t a vision nor a hallucination. Especially when others were around to witness this interaction.

If that happened . . . why is it that none of the 3 earlier gospels mention it? They don't even mention a spear thrust in the side. Very remarkable that Luke, supposedly a physician, didn't say something about it!!!!! What it looks like was that there were a lot of skeptics about Jesus dying on the cross. They knew that crucifixion victims usually took days to die . . . and Jesus dies after only some 6 hours??? A fishy story indeed ! ! ! So . . . one of the writers of JOHN invented the story to try and quiet the doubters.
