I respectfully disagree, Steven, but 18.21 woefully falls short of emulating what Dior’s Tobacolor has achieved. The boozy/tobacco accord smell is distinctly different. While both have a strong initial blast, Tobacolor stays strong for many hours long after 18.21 has turned into a skin scent. 18.21 is less sweet. Greater sillage with Tobacolor as well. Tobacolor is far more cozier with a cognac feel; 18.21 colder with a whiskey feel. Each has its own place. I have both. I can see where some might be put off with the initial strong tobacco blast of Tobacolor, but as it develops it tones down to make it one of winter’s best performers. Tobacolor in short is a magnificent fragrance.

Aha. I have 18.21 Sweet Tobacco. It's a very, very sweet and thick honey frag, winter only. And very strong. I did in fact compare 18.21 to TF Tobacco Vanille. Both strong and sweet as heck, although yes, different. I don't need this Dior for now. I'll stick to rotating my Dior Eau Sauvage classic masterpiece into my usage for now. And maybe a few cold days next winter for my 18.21 Sweet Tobacco, and my Tobacco Vanille sample.

Hi Steven! Hope all is well with you and family! I ordered a travel size of this fragrance and personally, I didn't care for it. To me it smells a little milky. Plum notes are not my fave either. So this was a no for a full size for me. I did have high hopes thinking the blend would be so great that I would love it but not the case for me. But not every fragrance is for everyone! Can you be more specific on how the tobacco notes are different between 1821 ManMade & Dior’s Tobacolor. I love Tobacolor, but haven’t sniffed 1821 ManMade. $80 vs $250. A good reason to ask.

@@samoo8933 hi-saying one smells “better” than the other is a wrong approach since “better” is entirely subjective. My suggestion is to buy a sample decant and compare them both on clothes and on skin. Let me point out 18.21 is about $60 and has a low to medium longevity on my skin and Tobacolor is $250 and has very long longevity. Only you can make the judgement as to what you prefer. @@samoo8933 I haven’t sniffed “Red Tobacco” in a long time, but I remember it having an intense smokey cigar scent. Since it sounds like you really enjoy more of a cigar scent, you might want to consider Parfum de Marly’s “Carlisle” which to my nose is cigar intense. Tobacolor is a sweeter scent which probably softens the tobacco and becomes boozy though it has lasting power.

I don’t this this fragrance is unique at all, it’s been done before. No doubt it’s a good quality fragrance but I am disappointed because they ruined it with the overriding sweet notes. The honey not is nice but I was expecting a more dry earthy tobacco.

This is exactly like 18:21 Man Made Sweet Tobacco Spirits just like Rochas Moustache EDP is to YSL Tuxedo. I would never buy this or Tuxedo since the cheaper alternatives smell almost identical and actually have better performance.
