I didn't know that. It's a shame when people go on power trips and interfere with the music. That said, I understand how hard it is to make a living in the music industry, so Dino & Burton wanting to keep FF just a 2-person band is understandable when you think about having to split royalties

I always liked Christians style, very passionate, flash but genuine. A surprisingly good teacher for someone claiming not to know anything about theory =), good track, made me want to listen to Archetype, good throwback to Soul Of A New Machine's grind core sound, Metal really needs more Axemen like Christian Olde Wolbers, Rex Brown, Jason Newsted, David Ellefson, Cliff Burton...

Love the way MOST popular metal guitarist guys , rhythm players, typically have no idea about musical theory. In my opinion that lack of knowledge is actual what RELEASES the player , to just play , and not go ... "Oh , but that breaks a rule of scale , A, Vs arpeggio C'minor etc etc ! " Music is about FEEL , Emotion!!!!, playing to a FEELING and not Structured (ie Rules!! ) , there are no rules to a feeling, it simply....... IS , or .. ISNT ......... Felt ! ......................... If it did then it rocked my world , It was ART !

Absolutly agree with you ! however point I was making was more squared at someone who has leart from a book. I have a good mate who never jams, juts plays other peoples music, covers , learnt all his technique from a "what to do" book, books. He cant jam , he has no feeling what so ever to hook into a vibe and play around it. I myself played for 25 years , knew LOTs of theory eventually because I made myself go back after playing fairly well for 15 years and learn it as I reached a point where I was technically in a rut. It help my playing a million-fold. Opened up soo many new doors of creativiety, kinda like discovering a billion new colours to paint with. My point I was making was aimed at the unfortunate text book players.

sadly yes ! , for me i lived in a house where i was happy sitting in my room alone for hours on end constantly working on Master of Puppets ( as one track i used to struggle with, as with slayers Born of fire ., as a few that i cut my teeth on ..

Archetype has some sick riffing all around, Chris brought back the hardcore riffs back from the days of demanufacture, which is something FF is missing nowadays, sadly. Also, Chris had that deftone-ish type of chords that made him different from Dino, I like what he did on Archetype and Cyberwaste is my fave track of the album.

Surely Casares is the soul of FF but Christian deserves at least skme respect .

I don't see that one coming out. he only one they released in Silverburst was the archtop Dinky with the ToM and normal inlays. They dropped that one in 2009, too.

As much as I love the newer FF stuff, it still righteously pisses me off that Christian and Raymond got shafted the way they did. Burton and Dino need to get those guys back, and made a REAL Fear Factory album, with the lineup that bashed out the classics.

I really don't think Christian is a better player than Dino. Dino did write the majority of Fear Factory's best material. It is however, becoming quite evident that Dino is running out of ideas judging by the material on The Industrialist. I wish they would just get back together with all the original members and write a real Fear Factory record again.

Dino is the original Guitarist for Fear Factory and always will be. Demanufacture was the album that defined this band and it's aggressiveness unlike transgression which was a weak album but it sure is the best for the fans who bought that album and liked them during that period of time. Arkaea's riffs are weak and they were going to be the new ff tracks it would've been a mess and a HUGE disappointment.
