Those beer bottles have a stopper instead of a bottle cap. Hence, when the stopper comes out you hear the funny sound. Some beer is still bottled that way. The stopper is attached with a spring mechanism that keeps it firmly in place until you remove it.

I really love the background music that starts at 0:36. It fits the scene so well...very simple. Conveys a mix of fear and hope. Sort of reminiscent of the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack, though I'm sure many of you won't like that comparison. Overall, just beautiful and fitting.
