Bill Gaither just picked them out and had them sing this. They'd all sung this song many times, but not with each other.

David Phelps is my all time favorite, and i love this group. Marshall Hall (the blond guy between David and Buddy) is my second favorite GVB member. He is not as well know as Mark or Guy or many of the others, but he has a beautiful baritone (?) voice, and i love hearing him sing.

Sorry, i meant to add to my previous comment...A beautiful song called Sitting At the Feet of Jesus is sung by the Gaither Vocal Band and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound. Unfortunately, David is not in the group this time, but the harmonies and words are beautiful. This subscriber would love to see/hear your reaction to this song. (Incidentally, Marshall Hall sings the solo parts). I really think you would love this song, and i thank you for doing David Phelps and the GVB!

Bill Gaither has written many songs... starting with his wife Gloria...most famous "Because He Lives"..."I Believe in a Hill called Mt Calvary"...etc...

Lee Young and Buddy Mullins were very early Gaither Vocal Band and Marshall Hall and David Phelps are more recent. They were put together for this reunion special and this Bill and Gloria written song from way back in maybe the 1960's. They wrote a lot of great songs through the years, some of which are in a lot of church hymnals.

I believe this was in 2009 at Bill & Gloria Gaither's studio in Indiana. These men are all Gaither Vocal Band members, past & present. The women are all Christian singers who sing in the Gaither Homecoming Videos, etc.

This song is probably Bill's most well known. It is the title song on an Elvis gospel album.
