Whenever C Scott plays/composes he gets a really heavy sound...he is like the conscience and political activist of the younger jazz world, if you've ever seen him live its like he feels like he has this role he has to play. Unique how everyone fits into personal spaces in jazz, this guy is real talented and a major figure of jazz for our generation, look out for more from this cat

This track puts me in the mind of a Brecker Brothers composition. Its got that Brecker Brothers feel and influence going on. nice arrangement. The late great Sax man Michael Brecker would proud. And of course Trumpet Man Rand Brecker would be proud of this composition. This young kats are doing the dang thing. Christan Scott is a very outstanding Trumpet palyer. Basskat Michael G Detroit MI.

@ElGuayoteo in closing, practice hard, check out world music drumming, especially from india which along with austria, has done immeasurably immense advancement in music theory. this outta time sounding stuff, is totally intime when you account for the barline yourself, then you'll hear him moving around it like a kid playing around a tree, but not on the tree (not on the barline) the way we do here in the west.

Lol, one of the few precision drummers that can have insane drums without having to play like a robot.

@ElGuayoteo hes moving his emphasis around the barlines.if you wanna get all racist, know that western music is very basic, uniform and well...imagine the winter, everyones bundled up.no freedom to express physically in the summer.thats what classical western music is like.eastern music has quarter tones (thus more scales) longer drum loops and the idea that the barline musnt always be followed. this allows for more advancement in theory. our great artists made their progression through the east.
