I can already hear christian saying that this isnt a test. Its a just a demonstration of his power🙄.

Okay then, why don't God demonstrate his power now 🤔

@@АртурИванов-ч9эhe did then and he will again in the future. The context is important as well, this was early on in our Fathers relationship. In short, there is no more need to test his love b/c he sent his son.

It's fascinating how religions evolve more and more lore to take care of atheist responses and tie themselves up in knots. It's like atheists are the environment selecting the scriptures.

There’s a clear distinction. Elijah prayed and prayers aren’t counted as test…they just go unanswered…🤣

But but wait, that was the old testament and this is the new testament. Forgetting God is the same today yesterday and tomorrow. Not one jot or tittle will go away etc etc. How many times have I heard that weak excuse. Thank god he wrote a second testament to fix the first one! Wait, what, there are "supposed" contradictions in the new one? I think we need a 3rd Testament.

@@icekills1 It's Sunday School kid level theology which is why I expected better from Doug. Elijah is speaking on behalf of God. As with all prophets, God is working through Elijah. It's not Elijah testing God, but carrying out God's will to demonstrate his superiority over the false gods.

@@InformedTheology how do you know Elijah was carrying out God's will? Because of the results right? So likewise, a human doesn't know with certainty before they pray if it is God's will or not, so why not try to light up my water soaked napkin?

The whole story of Jesus wandering in the desert makes no sense. Jesus would have had the power to feed himself all along. It’s like a rich kid pretending to be poor to fit in at school
