The Total Victory of Christ

Simplifying eschatology turns out to be easier said than done. But I believe the presentation covers some key points necessary in understanding Christian Universalism, i.e. the importance of the age of ages and why poor translations of the bible create contradictions in scripture that don't belong there.
All bible quotations are from the New International Version, New Living Translation, and if not specified from the World English Bible. Other resources are cited in the presentation. Video clips Creative Commons attribution to videvo

Thank you so much for this video ☺️ I've recently left my evangelical church because of what they taught, including eternal torture in hell, and how a lot of it didn't add up theologically or express the true love of God. I'm now on a journey of discovery and I'm loving it. I'm so relieved that the feeling I had in my heart as a child that universalism is true is actually TRUE. God bless the work you're doing ❤

@@KB-eb8dj So I have read all of those things. A few times actually so I'm very well rehearsed when it comes to theology. Gehenna first of all was a physical place outside the gates of Jerusalem reported to perform child sacrifices. In the original texts it was never mentioned and in Judaism it also wasn't mentioned in the Torrah. It's only been a recent concept, and even then more Abrahamic religions like Judaism and Catholicism see it as a purgatory rather than a place of eternal torture. Also.... nobody chooses to go to Hell. God sends them to Hell and it is a very abusive concept to believe in. That's why if Hell is real then God is worse than Hitler. If you wish I could elaborate on why this is the case?

@@simona_sigmund1001 I too have abandoned ECT as it is irreconcilable scripturally after being in the ECT camp for 15 years.Heres why ECT is impossible scripturally.If the wages of sin is death.All men have sinned therefore incurring a sin debt(Romans 6:23)(eternal separation from God forever in a place called hell;a literal fire burning hell as most evangelicals) and Jesus paid our sin debt on the cross.....how did Jesus pay our sin debt by taking it on himself without being eternally separated from God forever in a literal fire burning hell himself...its impossible.He never would have had victory over death or the grave.He would have to still be eternally separated from God forever in a place called hell just like we. No one will ever give you a straight answer.They'll throw insults,ignore you but never a straight answer. Its because there worldview is toppling. The penalty for sin is *DEATH* .Adam and Eve were to return to the dust of the earth ultimately because of sin .Nathan told David that God has put away sin..he will not die .Romans 5 tells you by sin...death came unto all men Jesus conquered death by his resurrection. Hope this gives you some hope. The vast majority of American Christianity has it wrong...but I doubt they'll reconsider.To appear before the congregation and say you were wrong is too much for them.

Now it all makes sense to me : the lake of fire, eternal life, the kingdom of Christ are all of an age - but after all this even Christ will be subject to the Father, after having put his enemies under his feet, and thus all shall be reconciled - we're looking at a long time, maybe centuries, after Christ's second coming, till all be reconciled. And no wonder, we have in Revelation 22.2 the leaves meant for the healing of the nations. How can this be if all the lost have been cast into the lake of fire? Because after that age, we will have complete healing - spiritual and physical. And yes, Christ died for all men, justified all men and glorified all men by raising all men from the grave. How blesses today is.

God did need to create a hell to destroy his creations, but the manner of destruction is key to define. Yes, it is unthinkable if you define destruction as "uncreate them" or "erase them" or "torment them neverendingly" however it is not unthinkable to define destroy as break their pride and rebellion, humble them, correct and teach them the error and undo the lies and transform them back into right standing with God as new creatures. Try not to throw out plain scripture but rather work with it and make it make sense. Otherwise you will not be sound and will not convince anyone.

But "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" ... if I saw you moving towards the edge of a cliff and I screamed at you "stop" - the fear you experienced would be a good thing - it would save you from death. The most dangerous thing you can do is remove the fear of God in the gospel. "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, BE AFRAID OF THE ONE WHO CAN DESTROY BOTH SOUL AND BODY IN HELL" (Matthew 10:28). These teachings are extremely dangerous. You all pretend otherwise but you actually have a real fear of hell - like Catholics whose fear of hell caused them to invent Purgatory and JWs and Mormons whose leaders were so fearful of hell that they removed it from their Bibles - and pretended it didn't exist. This is cultic teaching and very dangerous. I have discovered than many ex-New Agers and those involved in the occult have turned from orthodox teaching to this doctrine. It has not brought them any joy - but much fear and demonic attacks. Please repent and turn back to the Bible.
@Ancient-Paths
@Ancient-Paths 2 жыл бұрын
@risingStar I am sorry - but "you are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God" (Matthew 22:29). Your problem here is - you are confusing "the fear of the Lord" which is the beginning of wisdom - with natural fear - and you are comparing the state of the sinner and the Christian. I like you was fearful before I was saved - but just before I was born again - I experienced for the first time "the fear of the Lord." This is a reverent awe of His holiness. It is a God-given fear - which brings the wisdom to see sin and depart from it. Jesus shows that sinners need to experience this and "be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28). Why do you think He said this - just to make you nervous and worried? No it was to bring you to God. If you do not see your sin - you cannot be saved. But once you are saved, then you are able to understand both God's hatred of sin and His love toward the repentant sinner. Once you are saved this "fear of the Lord" causes you to avoid all sin, evil associations and heretical teachings. You can see this in Jude 1:23 "but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh." You are talking here about natural fear which sinners can have before they are saved. Once you are saved all fear is removed. I now have no fear of death or hell, but a "blessed assurance" - because I know my sins are forgiven through Christ's death at Calvary. "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18) However, I still believe the Bible when it says that there is an eternal hell awaiting the unrepentant sinner. Thank you for your suggestion, but I would rather not have my mind imploded - I will just stick with God's Word. May I respectfully suggest that if are constantly fearful of hell, and worrying that you are not saved - the reason is - because you are not saved.

i believe if God wanted eternal punishment..he would have punished eternally Adam and Eve. I mean, after all, they are the guilty one for our inner fallen human state..and of course, we are responsible for our sins, but the tendency to sin is there from Adam. buuut God in His plan and mercy, hushed away the couple to not eat from the tree of..life. why? to not live..eternally in their fallen state. imagine us all not dying and living like..this. ouch...hell! eternal torment! but God did not want that so he casted out the first humans from the garden. and took care of them..in the middle of the chaos. why?? why leting humans multiply in their fallen state? for Mashiah to come...and accomplish the heart of God..a place filled with humans who love Him and He loves them. a place called earth filled with Himself..Adam and Eve condemmed the entire human race to what we have witnessed for several thousand of years..so should I believe they will be in hell? cause they really diserve..right after ha satan. I do not..think so. It looks just nonsense..eternal death? well..then why the resurrection? because the resurrection itself is a GIFT..the penalty of sin is death. that should have been the end..when Adam and Eve sined. spiritual and physical. good night. but they will also be resurrected..why? because of Yeshua and because God had this plan long before they sinned..because God is perfect and nothing that He begins will not let in the air..NO one diserves resurrection. but all will be ressurected. we just have to understand for what...i believe i will be resurrected for life because i believe Yeshua and because i started my journey here..for the unbelievers i believe will be judgement. but what judgement is...I let God and His son decide. i really don't know in this moment..

Good testimony! Very nice to see Rotherham's Bible being quoted. This largely forgotten translation, from an excellent and objective lay scholar, is very true to the original language and structure of Scripture. Tragically (humanly-speaking), most popular translations are worse than "poor"; they are positively misleading on the subject of eschatology. Perhaps even more tragic is the highly significant fact that passages such 1 Cor 15 are often either ignored or wrested by mainline thinking! We should be giving 'Glory to the Father' (Phil 2:11) over such clear Scriptural affirmatives, not ignoring them...let alone denying them through our various rationalizations! Keep up the good work.

One must be born of the Spirit through faith in Jesus with the supernatural help of the Holy Spirit to be saved. One then is born again. Simply acknowledging God doesn't equal faith in His son and His son's name that is above all names: Jesus. I won't lie, for a while I was struggling understanding how their is no 'free will', but we do make choices. I think it makes much sense when you do consider God is a father and we are the children. To me the verse that does mention about chasening those he loves makes sense now I think. While we can and will more than likely rebel against him. It is God who is the final authority of what happens to his children. I do watch guys like Leighton Flowers, so I do agree with Universalists who disagree with Calvinists. However, to me it didn't ride with me that we just are forced to love God, but I realize why that is the wrong way to look at it. It is like it says that Jesus Christ died for his enemies. He died for us while we were yet enemies of God. So he loves everybody even when he refuse to not love him. To me that makes it work. We are saved in despite of our rebellion. Just as much as eternal conscious torment is not love forcing somebody to love is also not love, but I get it now. Eventually everybody will recognize him and glorify him. Every knee shall bow now makes sense. It won't be forced, it will be just because they see the truth and accept it eventually.

I had a revelation once that our souls are made of spiritual light. I surmise that the Light that God emits is made of gold, not literal gold but spiritual Gold or White of some kind. People who have NDE’s and stuff describe a super pure white, yet blinding light that somehow causes no eye pain. It’s interesting to understand that our true selves are made of something magical like that, and that we have a God so good that He will make us new again.

Aionius/aionion is virtually only used to describe eternal life (heaven)/eternal fire (hell). You can't rattle on about how it's only a tempory condition of the next world in regards to hell and not heaven. The same adjective is used for both. Even if you would argue that the "next age" of heaven is qualified with a condition of immortality, you would need to find a qualification of hell also. The creed assumes the next age is permanent, not a passing age in the way that we would currently use the word.

Look up Isaiah's coal (Isaiah 6) that cleanses the prophet's sin. Likely the lake of fire is of the same substance, as our "God is a consuming fire". They "are tormented in the presence of the Lamb and the holy angels into the ages of ages and have nor rest day or night" ... the same fire that burns in front of God's throne in Isaiah. The sea of glass in front of God's throne that the saints walk on (Rev 4) could also be the lake of fire for sinners and unbelievers at the same time, depending on your standing with God. God's judgements are remedial. Christ's promise is "Behold, I am making all things new" (Rev 21). ❤️✝️🙏

@rg442
@rg442 4 жыл бұрын
@@kevinisbell1867 Hopefully I can help a little here. Whether it's burned to death or simply burned for corrective purposes, I think we can agree that both instances are harsh. However, whenever we read the old testament, we need to keep in mind that it is only a shadow of the reality. And that everything that happens, happens for our admonition. Hebrews 10:1 For the law having a SHADOW of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. How can Leviticus 21:9 possibly be a shadow of GOOD things to come? No one ever sees judgment or chastisement as a good thing, but trust me, it's a great thing. In fact, it's a tool that God uses for our ultimate salvation. We should be joyful that God's judgments are upon the Earth. Hebrews 12:6-7 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 1Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Judgment leads to righteousness. Isaiah 26:9 ... for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. There were many punishments in the Old Testament that led to death, not just this one. Stonings, fires, etc. These are all shadows of what kills us today. These stones and fires are like the pharaohs dream, all are one. Matthew 21:44 And whosoever shall fall on this STONE shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 1 Corinthians 3:15 If any man's work shall be BURNED, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire. Rev 11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. Fire in the Bible almost always means the word of God. It's how we are all judged. So as harsh as it is to burn someone alive, for any reason, let's keep to mind the big picture here: Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Hope this helps. RG

Once you realize infinity, all of this becomes rather insignificant and profoundly significant simultaneously. Humanity will awake instantaneously, or is already awake. Our narrow perception of time limits our human ability to realize this on a physical plane. That's about the best I can explain it, as language itself is finite. In other words, you cannot explain infinity from a finite perspective, which we all have

I began to study the concept of hell and things just did not add up. No I do not agree with with Jehovas Witness but I do question the concept of the trinity at times, and I think this video made me question it even more. I was always taught that all parts of the trinity are equal but when Jesus prays to the father and even says all works are done through his father I have a hard time with it. Yes Jesus is the way to salvation but is he equal to the father?

Jesus is God’s Son. Joh 17:3 KJV And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Life Eternal is to know this. 1Jn 1:3 KJV That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. The JW's believe Jesus is a created being while the evangelical churches believe God is a Trinty. Both are wrong. Jesus is God's True Divine Son. Listen to the words spoken by the Father himself. Mat 3:17 KJV And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mat 17:5 KJV While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Mar 1:11 KJV And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mar 9:7 KJV And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. Luk 3:22 KJV And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. I think the Monarchy of the Father regarding the Trinity is a good view and sound explanation for the Trinity. The Father is superior as a King is superior to his son, but Jesus is still the same essence as His father for he is His only begotten son and we know that he was with God already since the beginning, and the Spirit of God is the Spirit of both the Father and the Son. The Son is equal to the Father because He is His son, and His heir, just like a prince is to his father the king. Not the same person, but both God, with different roles.

This also explains premature deaths, i.e young children dying before the age of accountability or people who died before they had a chance to know Christ (ex: a Han chinese person who died before the gospel could have ever possibly reach China). I've had pastor said directly to me that these people, including the children, would be in hell for eternity when these questions was brought up.

I don't care what the believers of hell say, God created everything, which means that he knowingly created people to go to hell. You can say, no they chose it, but that doesn't mean God didn't know what they would choose a billion years before they were born. God is so much greater than what these people give Him credit for. He can and did find a way to save everyone even the self-proclaimed worst sinner in the world...Saint Paul!!!!

Thanks for this. Reading Romans 5 this truth hit me even before I heard of universalism. I also read Matthew 24 and wondered if the "second coming" already took place then since that generation passed away already. So my question: what do the universalists believe about the second coming since all the "second coming scriptures" refer to the 70AD war?

Universalists can fall into all sides of eschatology, and I'm okay with that. My personal view is that the judgment coming of Christ in 70 A.D. divided the Old Covenant era and the New Covenant era. Very profound and important to understand, making me a Partial Preterist of sorts. But I also believe there will be a final return of Christ at the end of human history, resulting in the resurrection and restoration of all mankind as the Jews always believed would occur. It's clear from scripture that this broken world does not continue forever, as Christ does restore all things. Hope that helps.

90% of verses that people think are about hell are really about our life here on earth which lines up with what Israel has always believed about God and the scriptures there focused more on this life sin is punished in this life and Good is rewarded in this life yeah there is some verses about afterlife punishment but none of them say it’s eternal which again lines up with Jewish beliefs they believed punishment in the afterlife was only for a year we need to stop thinking in terms of them vs us Jesus didn’t start a new religion he just allowed us the be grafted into the tree which is Israel so like it or not we are Jewish and there teachings and beliefs do hold weight yes they rejected there messiah but that’s because God temporarily blinded them in that aspect but we are still to follow most of everything else they believe unless it directly opposes scripture which temporary punishment does not

Simple: forever and ever is not to be taken literally but is a term here used to indicate a long time and is figurative. In the same way, Jonah said he was in the belly of the whale forever - but we know it was only 3 days. Use Bible to make sense of Bible. If the opponent says no, if the Bible says forever it must mean literal neverending, show them Jonah saying he was in hell forever. Jonah 2:6 To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, LORD my God, brought my life up from the pit.

this chapter speaks of the antiChrist and the kingdoms that usher him forth calling them beasts with many heads of different types of animals symbolizing each country and then speaks of the false prophet who will cause people to worship the antichrist beast. This speaks of the 7 year period of the end times that ends the world as we know it and ushers in the 1k year kingdom of Christ's reign on the earth. During the 7 year period all will worship the beast and make a false religion treating the beast like a messiah and all who refuse will be tortured and killed except any God preserves in hiding or some supernatural protection of sorts.

@@marleneholloway7775 THE "PAGAN" DOCTRINE OF HELL EXPOSED Where and when did the idea of Hell as an unending torture chamber originate? Would the mainstream popular understanding of the Gospel as "Good News" change IF the mainstream current idea of afterlife torment can be proven to be a pagan idea? The whole idea of an afterlife of continual and perpetual suffering and burning in fiery flames came from pagan Egyptian, Babylonian, and Greek mythology, bearing no Christian roots whatsoever. That can be absolutely proven. It was totally foriegn to Hebraic thought. You will find it nowhere in the Old Testament. It snuck into the church in the early centuries of Christianity as the religious institution became polluted and corrupted with the PAGAN influence of Greek mythology. A lot of people like to say, "Well, didn't Jesus talk about hell more than anything else?" To which I respond: Jesus actually NEVER - not one time - EVER spoke about hell. That is a fact. The word hell was not even invented until 725 AD. He spoke very clearly and specifically about "Gehenna," or the "Valley of Hinnom," a very real place just outside of the city walls of Jerusalem with a dreaded history, where the Jews once sacrificed their children and had them burned alive. Both Jeremiah and Isaiah referred to this place in their prophecies about the fate of the inhabitants of Jerusalem during the destruction of the city in 586 BC when the Babylonians laid waste to Jerusalem, and threw hundreds of thousands of dead Jews into that cursed valley where they were burned up and consumed. Jesus was warning the Jewish leaders of the same fate which was going to come upon them within one generation if they did not repent and receive him as their Messiah. This is, in fact, exactly what happened in 70 AD, as chronicled by Josephus in his work, "The Jewish Wars" when the Roman general Titus laid siege to the city of Jerusalem and massacred almost the entire population and threw the dead bodies of the Jews into that very same valley of "Gehenna," where they were consumed by fire and eaten by worms. Hell is NOT some future place of eternal torment for people who don't accept Jesus. That is a man-made religious myth used to control and manipulate the masses ever since the Dark Ages of Roman Catholicism, and has been carried over into Evangelical tradition. It should have been renounced and cast out of the belief system of the church along with the worship of the saints, the infallacy of the papacy, the selling of indulgences and many other pagan practices rejected during the Reformation. Unfortunately, Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, et. al, did not go far enough in the 16th century, so now it is time to finish the work started during the Reformation, and purge the Church of the pagan false belief in a place of eternal punishment called "Hell." The orginal word "Gehenna" is key to understanding that Christ was speaking to apostate Israel about THEIR soon coming tribulation (destruction) if they didn't beleive on their Messiah. Gehenna was a real place where their dead were thrown, along with the city's refuse. It was a practice of that time. ECT folks need to understand the English word "Hell" is also translated from "Sheol" in the Hebrew and the Greek word "Hades." They mean the grave or place of the dead. The orginal languages play such an important part in understanding the Scriptures. Like the little known events of 70 AD, the saints need to consider audience relevance and the place of Scripture in it's historical context. Our Lord is Savior of ALL!

I was wondering if you had any insights or views on the possibility of those who don't follow Jesus in this life lessening or even averting corrective punishment. I was at a lecture by Catholic professor Eleonore Stump recently who talked about understanding Christ in John 14:6 as the ultimate principle of goodness through which even non-believers might attain salvation. Could a universalist view accommodate this notion in the context of an expedited salvation or excused corrective punishment?

Catholism, since they were the first established religion, is correct about purgatory. The thing that is partly wrong about it is the dead will be saved while in purgatory if they will be prayed upon by the living, which is very wrong, but they got the idea of refinement and purging in the outer darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth.

it is similar in concept, but not the same. There is this life, then upper or lower hades with you as you await the resurrection of hte dead. Then comes the great white throne judgement and the lake of fire for most. The righteous dead are resurrected at the first resurrection and rule for 1k years. Purgatory is the idea that you can go to heaven, hell, or purgatory when you die. It is not biblical. You go to upper or lower hades when you die period. However, the idea that the lake of fire you end up in finally after the resurrection unto judgment purges you of all sin and lies is biblical. In that sense the lake of fire IS purgatory of a sort.

Hi Can you give me an explanation to Matthew 5:20,"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven", regarding some people not entering the kingdom of Heaven? Basically with the Universal Reconciliation, all people will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but not all will inherit it
@stfnknbb
@stfnknbb 4 жыл бұрын
This means that you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven until you have been sanctified. For those who are not reconciled to Christ, they are reconciled to God through hell and then sanctified when they repent. This is what is depicted in revelation when the sins of evil doers are burned away and then they "wash their robes" to join with the church and christ who are already in the new Jerusalem.
@artbyrobot1
@artbyrobot1 Жыл бұрын
yes only the righteous will enter the kingdom of heaven by the narrow gate and escape the wrath of God of the age to come. However, the rest go in by the broad gate that leads to destruction and are destroyed by the Lake of Fire which is the second death. Only after God has sufficiently destroyed their pride, rebellion, and their lies and blindness can they be restored to right standing with God through Christ. So universal reconciliation is not saying all are saved without punishment of hte age to come but that all are saved eventually although most will have to go through that punishment because they refused to repent and live holy in this life.

This stumped me for a long time, finally got free from the delusions I used to go to r/debateAChristian and i was so confused at the contradictions, my mind was reeling, nothing made sense anymore until i realized Christian Universalism is the answer have an open mind, is all i will say... its beautiful once you know the truth and know that God really is good and really does have a perfect plan sadly most Christians these days are deluded, in constant fear of hell, thats the only reason why some of them believe whether they are conscious of it or not

nothing wrong with fear of hell even as a universalist. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and to hell you will go if you don't manage to enter by the narrow gate which few will be able to do. Hell is a place of correction and not literally forever in duration, but is still a place worth striving to avoid. OF course we should also strive to serve God out of love and enjoyment of serving, not merely based on fear of the alternative. But to toss out all fear of retributive punishment just because you realize the punishment is administered fairly, mercifully, and lovingly, is not prudent nor biblical.

What would the final judgement be for your average guy? Like someone that is pretty nice to people, has stumbled here and there but regrets past sins and well knocks it off. Nice to other people, loves his family and cares for them maybe believes in Christ or never heard the gospel. How do you think it would go for most people cause I feel like it isn’t being a devout man that gets you salvation it’s God’s mercy for man that gives people salvation. We all are sinners and fall short what do you think Jesus would think of us when he sees us. I actually have anxiety in me like I am failing and a bit of fear like I will fail. I want to be good to people not just cause a doctrine says to love and forgive other people but because I like other people and don’t want to hurt anyone.

God does not lack the wisdom and power to successfully transform the hearts of his creatures and guarantee a loving response from them. God has complete control over all circumstances (including the circumstances that result in each of us choosing what we do, and which shape us into the kind of people that we are). Unlike us, God can change someone's heart whenever he pleases to do so, and can 100% guarantee that they become the kind of person who genuinely loves and wants to serve him (as opposed to being "forced against their will" to obey him).

Many will try and be unable. All who fail to enter that way enter by the broad gate the leads to destruction in the Lake of Fire. The violent take the kingdom of God by violence. It is not for the faint of heart. Count the cost. It is very difficult path the narrow one. You will have to give up your life to find it. Good question brother. The short answer is this is just God's order of things. The long answer is this comes down to understanding the doctrine of the Trinity. From the Athanasian Creed, "we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Essence. For there is one Person of the Father; another of the Son; and another of the Holy Ghost. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all one; the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal." So God is just being true to who he is. Christ's mission was to return and restore creation to the Father. Being the representative of all mankind in life it is only appropriate that the Son, by his own example, submit himself to the Father, as our submission to Christ is also submission to the Father. Again, this is simply God's order of things, all three members of the Trinity are equal in Glory. Hopefully that brings this into focus.

Hey man, I love your videos, but I have a huge problem maybe you can help me with? I do like the doctrine here, way more than the other two (annihalism & eternal torment). The problem I have with the refining-process is the lack of free will and individualism. Its always "you're not good enough"; who and what u are, if not good enough for God, will be destroyed (destroyed in the spiritual sense). If you have seen the movie Demolition Man 1993, God sounds exectly like Raymond Cocteau in that movie; rooting out all evil (free choice and individualism) for the sake of control. I rather like the quote from Simon Pheonix in that movie: "You can't take away peoples right to be assholes." What will happen to free-will and individualism when christ returns?

"When I be lifted up, I will draw all men (people) unto me" ... Christ came to fulfil the law, and not a jot nor tittle shall pass away from the law until all is fulfilled. The law demands that we love God with all we have, or in New Testament thought (John 6:26) to believe in Christ, and to love our neighbor or fellow human being with the same weight we love ourselves. God as a just judge will enforced this law, serve justice to the wronged and remedial punishment to those in need of it. Also, there needs to be a spiritual fulfillment of Jubilee, when all slaves ("we are sold under sin") in ancient Israel were freed, this was commanded to every 7 times 7 years (Sabbath week of years) plus one = fifty years... The Jubilee of the ages... then Christ will hand the sceptre back to the Father. So much more to unpack. Hope that helps... ✝️🕊️🙏❤️😊

If Christ prophesies that all will eventually see the light and return to the Lord, the inability to do otherwise does not mean you are stripped of free will and individualism. It merely means that nobody can forever remain so blinded as to reject a loving God because they are believing lies because God is able to enable them to see the truth of matters. Being unable to shut your eyes off to the truth when it is revealed to you is not a lack of free will as you suppose, it is merely attesting to the impossibility of remaining in a state of ignorance forever when you have a patient teacher correcting you. If you are forced to attend school and learn, you cannot remain uneducated forever and by no means does this remove your free will. It just means if you keep learning it is impossible to remain unlearned indefinitely.

Names are blotted out which means they will not escape the wrath of God but must endure the debtors prison of the Lake of Fire until they have paid the last penny. Only then will God reveal the truth to them fully and restore them to himself. Universalism is not teaching that all are permanently kept in the book of Life and enter by the narrow gate without punishment. That would be absurd. The sin argument is an interesting one. Christian apologists claim that Adam and Eve were created perfect but they had freewill - hence why they sinned. The problem with this claim is that if they were created perfect then they should have always made perfect decisions. Imperfection does not give birth to perfection. That goes against the rules of logic. PERFECTION BEGATS PERFECTION. IMPERFECTION BEGATS IMPERFECTION. Logic always wins. Therefore, the Christian apologists claim is completely wrong from a logical standpoint - of course, that is if we are using the same logical parameters to assess this topic in the same way we would assess everything else in life. Of course, the Eden story is entirely mythological - but Christian apologists interpret the story literally - thats the problem. You see foks, All the geographical locations in the bible are actually real - so are the various people groups mentioned in the bible. But all the stories are entire mythological and consist of allegory and metaphor. In fact, all the worlds organised religions are actually the same in this manner. Ancient Humans were simply trying to understand the world around them and their greater purpose - so they wrote what they SURMISED was Gods nature and mixed in their own folklore tales with it. They then put these ALLEGORICAL hybrid tales into books and the resulting end products are what you would call the so called "holy books" from the various people groups around the world. There is nothing surprising about this. Thats just human beings behaving like human beings. Throughout the thousands of years people groups from around the world have done this. The trick is to make the various resulting religions work for YOU. Rather than YOU working for these religions. Hell was not taught as a lake of fire in the Old Testament. The greek idea of hell in the New Testament is very easy to explain. Let us first examine the Jews. The orthodox Jews claim that both Christianity and Islam are actually BASTARDISATIONS of orthodox Judaism. The orthodox Jews do not believe in hell as a place of eternal torture by fire. That would explain why greek ideas of hell have been put in Jesus's mouth by the greek writers of the New Testament. Especially, considering that in order for any person to learn greek 2000 years ago the only greek writings actually available to actually PRACTICE learning the greek language were greek mythological epics which documented precisely greek ideas of hell. For example, Hades and Tartarus are terms for hell copied straight from the greek mythological epics which contained these concepts and ideas. People simply learnt these Greek epics as a way of practicing reading and writing greek as the main greek writings were all mythological works. The New Testament writers then copied these greek ideas of hell into the greek New Testament they were writing. The New Testament is a fusion of Judaism and Greek mythology. Hellinistic Judaism is well documented by Orthodox Jews themselves. It was eventually suppressed - but It re-emerged as New Testament Christianity in 325ad. The difference is that this time it was backed by the state of Rome in what became known as Roman Catholicism. ALL, the various protestant denominations copied these doctrines as they branched off from Roman Catholicism. They left out other doctrines and took the main doctrines into their new Protestant version of Christianity.

George MacDonalds sermons on hell (much like Jesus's own words) are simply terrifying, and denote a tremendous sense of urgency.
