I'm still touched by the great response that I got from the last cover "That's the way it is" ( • "That's The Way It Is"... ) and after a couple of requests I felt like I just had to do this song as well. It's originally made by D'Angelo and you'll hear it with some great scenery in the game Red Dead Redemption 2. I absolutely love it.

I finished RDR2 a week ago for the first time. When Arthur said “Thank you” to his horse at the end, that’s when I and my gf started crying like a little babies, then with Micah appearance we were really angry, and the ending (the best one) made us cry again. Honestly, this game is one of the best things I’ve ever played/watched/heard, truly masterpiece.

I know it sucks that Arthur died. Honestly it was a tough ending. I've never been emotionally attached to a video game character and I've been playing video games for 30 years. But Arthur, Arthur got me right in the feels. I know it sounds weird but I'm glad he died. It would have cheapened his redemptive journey if there would have been some last minute miracle cure. Instead he sealed his path towards the light with his life. That's how any man should want to go out. Doing one last noble act, one last good thing before you pass through the veil and into the spirit realm. Great game, despite it's flaws, this was a masterpiece.

Exactly how I felt. Remembered seeing John in the trailer and figured you'd get to do the post-game stuff as him. I couldn't wait to get to that point when I started, then like halfway through, I realized I never wanted to get there. I think I spent more time in chapter 6 than I did in the first 5 combined.

Wait, I'm almost 100% sure it's: "He who drinks from the deep water, may he *know the depths of the WELL*" I always interpreted it as a metaphor for drawing profound insight from everyday experiences. That really resonated with me during that particular part of the RDR2 story (spoilers) when the song first plays in the game. Right after ***** basically left ****** to die and ran away, when he could have easily come to the rescue. And you're riding back to camp and thinking about the whole declining situation with ***** and what that means for the gang in general. To me, that was when Arthur started to really "know the depths of the well", so to speak. Purely my own opinion and experience, and I could even be wrong about the lyric, but that was my take on it so I thought I'd share.
