Glenn Davey yeah, I saw a guy that has a 7 hour play through but horseback running and missions he thought unnecessary was cut. If you add all of that in, you can get a 12ish hour long game if all the main missions are done and gotten to in the most efficient way and if you ignore every side mission.
@jgunner943 жыл бұрын
@@NoNo-pw6kd There’s so many scenes and situations that develop the characters and their bond to each other so a 7 hour playtrough won’t do it justice at all.

@@NoNo-pw6kd Thats not the point of the game. Rockstar put so much effort into giving an illiusion of freedom in the game. Your supposed to try and understand the context behind all those missions. If you care there is about 200 hours worth of content before you finish the game.

I just realized the term “Deadman’s Gun” isn’t just referring to Jack holding John’s revolver. It’s a reference to a western show that followed a plot of a beautiful gun that brings misfortune or disaster among its owner. In this case, Jack became consumed after he killed Ross being no different than John. He failed what Arthur and Abigail wanted for him.

Redemption 2 had some amazing songs, and they're all moving in their own way... but I still think Deadman's Gun is the perfect song to end the saga on. The way Jack looks at his father's gun after killing Ross, reflecting on how he became exactly the man his father didn't want him to turn into.. Thinking back on all the time we spent as John and Arthur, and all the loss they felt, all while this beautiful song plays... really gives the first game, and by extension, the whole series, a very bittersweet ending. This is by far the most beautiful rendition of the song I've seen so far, the vocals elevate the music in a way equal to Ashtar's performance itself, at least... And the whole thing is faithful to the version heard in the game, no extra instruments or dramatic flair... just one man and his guitar as it's supposed to be.

The song makes me think of Jack, drawing the pistol at Edgar Ross, all the good and bad memories, he clears leather, and remembers the time where Ross shot his father, he then locked on his target and is ready to shoot, but if he does, there would be no turning back, but he doesn't care, he lost everything cause of him, he fires a full mag at Ross. Killing him in the most brutal manner, he looks at his father's pistol, and regrets it, he became a man his father never wanted him to be, an outlaw, Jack holsters his daddy's gun and rides off.

I imagine in his last hours, Jack Marston, now already an author, wrote "Dead Man's Gun" in his book, "Red Dead Redemption" as a funeral song, not just to John, Arthur, and his family, but to the Old Wild West as a whole. A singing tribute to a bygone era. How everyone lived and died, but remembered rewardly as Legends. He grew up when the West was wild, weird, dangerous and unforgiving, in the same time it was awesome.

Im not crying. You're rying. My eyes are just sweating. OMFG THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL :'( "Deadman's Gun" is my absolute favourite OST from both games and I just cant stop tears from falling anytime I hear it. I'm not huge fan of covers in general, but yours always get me and hit my feelings like a train.

Thank you kind sir for taking me on a nostalgia trip back to few years ago when I was on a day-vacation with some family and friends and we were listening to this song while cooking fish, diving some sea urchins and having a great time.
