It's crazy how fortunate Christiana is. As someone who works in health care, imaging (X-ray, CT, and MRI), we see a lot of stenosis of the spine, disc bulges, and compression fractures of the vertebral bodies and many more pathological issues. Something like Christianas injury is extremely serious. Often these situations are caught before it gets to bad. Those who were encouraging her not to move because it could become irreversible is a true statement. If you look at the MRI, her disc is putting so much pressure against her cauda equina of the spinal cord. This could lead to all sorts of serious issues such as paralysis. The fact she was able to get seen and get imaging really saved her from a far worse consequence. I am glad to see that she is recovered and back to doing the thing she loves. Let her story be a reminder that you should trust your instincts if you think something is wrong with your body and get seen. Even if its nothing too serious, like her story, it could give you the peace of mind that you need. God bless.

So was the main damage done by the chiropractor cracking the back?

@@matthewyoung2797 Thank you for your question. My thoughts are that she was already experiencing a lot of pain prior to the chiropractor. However, it makes me think that her injury could have been exacerbated by the spinal manipulation. I would caution anyone getting spinal manipulation with a pre-existing injury to the spine. Really the only way one could tell for certain is if she had imaging done before the manipulation and post-manipulation to see if there were any changes.

I've seen videos of Christiana here and there (remembered the name as she has great style), then I saw her story or Instagram I think with the news about the surgery.. Was terrible to see, as can only imagine what it's like to go through this and possibly never be able to skate again. I love her vibe and amazing to see/hear how she's handled the hardships. My hat off to you m'am. Much respect, bless!!
