I think that this was helpful. I’m a big fan of vans and your channel and it’s good to know that Vans still keeps their old school shoes the same way with some minor upgrades. I think what Vans needs to do, is reissue their early 2000s shoes. Like the rowley XLT, Tnt 1, Cab 7s, Santos 1and so much more. I hope to see more shoe reviews. Especially now in our country, we have a lot of cases and the government isn’t doing anything to help out. So I’m never going to a mall just to buy shoes.Thanks to you, your shoe reviews help me decide what shoes i’ll be ordering online. Much love from the 🇵🇭.

"It's pretty much the same shoe". yeah that's my impression as well. I wouldn't even say they improved the shoe really. It will be especially interesting to see what you think of the long-term durability Zack. Because I've got a feeling it will barely be a difference with the older skate shoes, regardless of being marketed as more durable materials.

With the old pro classics the foxing often peels away from the outsole, but on my Rowans which also have the “Sick Stick” outsole that hasn’t happened yet and it doesn’t look like it will. I reckon that’s the biggest difference with these new Skate Classics.

Funnily enough, just picked up a pair of these (but in white/cream) plus a pair of Kyle Walker's from the Vans outlet for $40/each. Hyped on collabs if there are more planned out. Would be cool, but obviously hard to do a mixed review, so like Dowdy has his opinions on the transition side and then you give your opinion for the street/impact side.

I got the same shoe and I noticed a big difference. I’m a bigger guy, so I don’t do as many flip tricks so I wear through shoes at the bottom and some on my left from ollies and kick flips. I noticed that where the heel sits it’s way more snug and will be very durable there as well. There old shoe had fabric covering a grey rubbery material and I would just destroy that but now it’s canvas over something very stiff so my heel isn’t moving around. I can tell very quickly that it’s going to take a lot longer to wear through the bottom. My feet are bigger than most so it usually takes 2 weeks of wearing shoes for them to actually feel good. I usually buy a pair shoes before I need them to slowly break them in but these felt so good right out of the box. Skated them right after I bought them and I’ve never been able to do that before. I got the violet/marshmallow colee scheme and they also just look dope as fuck. If your bigger or just not as advanced at skateboarding like Christian or Dowdy than I think you would like them a lot. As always love the videos both from Christian and Dowdy hope this helps.

I think that this video was super rad and I like the shoes as well because I have also skated them and they lasted a long time and flicked 👌super good more of these style of videos, super sick. I second this! I’m on my second pair, but I want to know what a proper reviewer thinks of them. From my experience they have by far the best board feel, grip and shape of any shoe I’ve ever skated and they’re really durable, but the heel is very firm so I worry a little bit when I have to run out of big airs. Despite that I’ve never gotten a heel bruise in them and I do skate them pretty hard, so the impact protection is probably decent despite them having a really firm insole. They’re basically perfect for the type of skating that Pontus does.

I really liked this video. It's a detailed review of the shoe coming from a transition skater and you don't really get that anywhere on youtube. Also, I agree that the shoe is sort of a remaster of the vans old skool pro. The shoe's a little stiffer because of the shank, but it still feels like an old skool pro.

I like the idea to have guest reviewers. I think it would be better if they skate a pair of shoes a little bit longer than just one session though, a week for example. You may want to experiment different formats of guest reviews, e.g. make them in a form of interview.

for more detail on the shoes cause i feel like he didnt do the best job at describing what they did to change it(sorry man). On the classics is the same idea as the pro edition. the pro had more rubber on the toebox, higher foxing trim, and a big insole. on the new Pro Classics -- the one hes skating -- they used a new, more durable rubber compound, a new tougher suede and canvas, and under the toe box and suede is another thin layer of rubber to help them last longer. the insole changed material to feel more rigid and hollowed out the heel slightly so your foot will fit more in the shoe without losing hardly any cushion. the stitching was also designed to be a little more tough and not rip as easily, along with nicer laces, lace eyelets, and glue. edit: i forgot to ass the slimmed the top of the part of the shoe where your foot slides in, so it fits to your ankle a little better. EDIT EDIT i forgot again (damn early onset dementia) the toung now has little straps on both sides that hold it perfectly center. Dont even notice em
