Phantasm is my fav obscure horror series. It has everything. A main villain that demands attention, Weird creatures, that 80s vibe, cool cars, aliens, sweet kills. Total package.

Film grain, is the very thing that makes it look cinematic. The scrubbing of grain, is a complete abomination unto film itself.

The director and artist behind the movie make it look cinematic and relied on the grain of film to help create the atmosphere of the final image. When they alter the original image by removing the grain and using AI to sharpen it, they are pissing on the original art and image. They are putting a veneer over the art.

phantasm is a underrated classic Angus is a legend music is 10/10 . don is a underrated director too . phantasm in 4k would be amazing to have along with 2 and 3

I can confirm that sadly Donald Pleasence & Angus Scrimm did not do a film together. I think they both were only active at the same time for about 20 years from the mid-70s to the mid-90s until Donald's death in early 1995.

If I want to watch grain, I wouldn't have gotten rid of my VHS and DVDS... For example, I love how ALIENS turned out on 4K... Now True Lies my personal opinion, it looks like the Actors was wearing fake suntan lotion... If you're old enough to remember the fake sun tan lotion... That you rubbed on to look like you had a tan... But instead, it turned your skin orange and buttery smooth... 😆 😅 😅

I prefer Media books.... Art is amazing and plenty photos reading all in one. I got DeathStalker 1 and 2 German Media book .....only problem i cant read German ! 😂
