Such an interesting and original video. Always good to see ways in which the analogue and digital world can be intertwined. Great work as always!

I worked in a studio years ago that started out with an AKG BX 20 spring reverb… we called it a ‘boing box’. At the time the thought of a spring reverb in a re or ding studio was a bit laughable. It’s quite interesting to see how they (in a similar way as anything else in the analog domain) have had a rebirth. By the way, the edited snare hits were a ‘poor man’s’ gated reverb emulation of the AMS reverb. That was really cool! Cheers!

I made one out of a slinky once and stretched it across my room. Was pretty fun realizing that banging it with a metal stick/screwdriver made the 1950's laser sound

I have the Dreadbox Hypnosis effects processor sitting in my small Eurorack. It absolutely does nice things with the analog sounds coming from elsewhere in the rack. Great little video. I think you are a bit of a musical mad professor!

There are very good spring interfaces/amps in the euro space. Intellijel and Music Thing come to mind. They always work, don’t set fires and open up all the filtering options in your rack.

Back in the the very early 1990s when the only electronic instrument I had was a DX100 (the DX7’s 4-operator, non-velocity-sensitive littlest brother), I would bring it to life somewhat by putting it through my Peavy Bandit guitar amp with its spring verb. Especially good for FM snares, toms, and cross sticks. Mono was great, since I was recording to 4-track cassette.

I use the Doepfer A-199 SPRV, in eurorack. Up till now I've always used it as end of chain; when I sober up from Sunday Lunch that will change, thank you.

Nice! Built my own with 2 tanks, an old headphone amp and a slightly tired behringer mixer. By the way ducking the reverb with your vocal is slightly confusing
