This period piece motion picture portrays the unique and heartfelt story of Pamela Bucklin from her birth in 1969 to her wedding day in 1991. When her mother dies at birth, Pamela is raised by her father, Wayne. He makes a commitment to pray with his daughter each and every night. He also raises her with a very high standard of purity before marriage. In an age when purity is scoffed at by many, this movie presents the message with perspective and inspiration. Also, the prayerful commitment of Wayne Bucklin is an example for all who are in a parental role.

I used to resent it, but after returning to Jesus, I realized it was a great blessing, because I would have regretted kissing anyone I liked in the past. What a lovely movie about a daughter and her dad and the Faith and his commitment to pray with his daughter every night. And just like he prayed God answered and sent her the right man for her to marry. Never have I seen a movie or heard such a story like this one. Was such a blessed movie. I wish this was the way it could always be in our world. But millions of teens end up pregnant in their teens. We need more dads like this one in our world.

When the daughter made a mistake, her father corrected her in love just as the Father does with us. Marriage is not a guarantee of intimacy or joy, mine’s quite devastating. My husband’s father was an alcoholic. As a consequence he often refuses intimacy bc his childhood was highly traumatic. I thought all men desire it?? It’s not true. I know he doesn’t do anything on purpose and we love each other. He used to get angry when tried to bring it up. Now we can talk about it. There are a lot of households like this that traumatize children and produce individuals who cannot love in one way or another. Christian households! A lot of parents are unaware of their abusive treatment of their children. I’ve seen the evidence. I wish I knew. Reality is so important.
