Yes; you are absolutely correct. Kap Chatfield; Homosexuality is a sin in the bible. Genesis 19 " Sodom and Gomorrah". Dear KAP; Gods design is one male and one female. Its honestly super beautiful. Marriage is honestly one of the most beautiful things of all time. KAP: Remember that no one is perfect. For example I am 19 years old and I have deeply lusted at VERY VERY VERY beautiful married women. KAP: please do not give up pursuing Jesus Christ. “preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬ there’s a few other verses but stick to the word end of story - if a pastor offends you while speaking the truth only based on the word of the Book of the Law, then he is a Pastor truly preaching the word and not perverting it. Best way to decern: use the Bible, and make sure your pastor’s actions and words are not contradicting it - and if it sounds off, ask them to elaborate and explain and see how he responds.

I love the clarification this brings! I've known for a long time that the New Testament Covenant supersedes a lot of Old Testament Law... but that never quite covered in my mind which laws we should keep and which are done away with. Having the Levitical Laws broken up into Moral, Civil, and Ceremonial Law makes tons of sense! For once I'm actually looking forward to reading Leviticus and Deuteronomy with those eyes!

What you said at 3:50… really touched me. Thank you for that important reminder. And they only have to quote religious texts in countries where religion has seeped into the government. In America, this is not supposed to be allowed, but it happened and people rightly fight against it. The Bible teaches you not to be worldly, then you obsess over making your beliefs into law. @@starspark9471 Yes Messiah made it clear about adultery, stoning etc. He also made it very very clear He did not come to abolish the Law or the prophets. But many are misunderstanding Paul's letters about this matter. The Messiah lived by the books of Moses and the prophets, Him and His disciples and we are to follow those principles. Abba didn't stutter nor is He self contractory. The Son of God had made His points clear. He was making a point to all not to follow the oral law which is what the pharisees and sanhedrin was doing. They were more focused on the ceremonial than the heart of the Torah LOVE. Messiah fine tuned the Father's instructions so that people are clear to follow in love. "Not bound to it", what does that even REALLY mean. It's the the LOVE Law. Yes Abba wrap me up in it, teach ME your righteous way and let me ABIDE in it!!! May you Dear neighbor can enlighten me about what you mean by "not bounded by it"? What is sin according to scripture? 1John ?? It's the TRANSGRESSION of the Law. SIN is LAWLESSNESS. Does not bound by the law mean we can go on transgressing/disobeying it and still enter into heaven? Disobedience to His instructions by the first Adam is what got us in a pickle and why we need a Savior with His cleansing blood, Righteousness and the only one that could defeat death and the devil. The Catholic Church stands as His enduring sanctuary. In the Holy Eucharist, Christ is truly present in body, soul, and divinity. I admit, there was a time when I struggled to grasp or believe this. @elijahhollinger3743 6 ай бұрын
That is true; and I do believe that indicates the Holy Spirit convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. However, there is another aspect to their hatred which is more relatable. Many atheists were Christians who 1. didn't have a saving faith in Jesus Christ and 2. Were turned away by genuine hypocrisy in the Church. How many pastors misuse the Law and fall to a Satanic, Judaizing doctrine of a demon regarding what Paul's letter to Timothy says, "forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from meats which God created to be received with thanksgiving." Notice what the Transgender supported said in the video--Leviticus says "no tattoos." That's an application of that, but what it actually said in context would be more like, no making marks on your body for the dead. The LGBTQ+ community learned their theology from legalistic pastors. And while there is a problem of them quoting that theology since it's easy to refute (AKA, a straw man), something that hurt you in your past and was pushed down your throat as "this is the only acceptable form of Christianity; all other interpretations are wrong" will stick with someone raised in it. To briefly summarize my rambling reply to your comment: they are indeed rejecting God's message to them, but if you were in their shoes, you would have compassion.

I am enjoying the Chronological Bible (for a third time now). It's the NIV arranged in the order things happened - read as daily readings. It works out to about 3 chapters a day, every day for a year It begins and ends the same (Genesis to Revelation) but the rest is intertwined for example when I read about what happened to David followed immediately by the Psalm(s) he wrote in response. Some of the daily readings cover verses from 3 or 4 different prophets who wrote at the same time. If you begin reading it on January 1st, the New Testament begins on September 24th. It's far more interesting than trying to read straight through Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, etc...

Scripture is my cornerstone habit. The way I go about it is this: I pray about what I would like to cultivate more of in my life/character. It's very general (peace, love, gratitude, forgiveness, knowing Jesus, ect.) Then I Google scriptures on the topic and I'll get a list. Then I create a reading plan with the given Scripture. I read a chapter a day (almost every day, I miss sometimes, not perfect over here lol). I journal what I read about too. It's very beautiful and special to me. The Word is slowly but surely being printed on my heart this way. Also, Proverbs is a great start because it's a month's worth of Scripture. I didn't grow up in a Christian home and I work double shifts every Sunday so it's tough getting to church. But I have the Word Amen! ❤ I hope that this is helpful. Merry Christmas!

Amen my brother. I’ve been studying the Bible much more this past year and man…I’m woefully unfamiliar and ill-prepared The great news is that I’m catching up. For those of you who’ve had a lifetime of reading the Bible even if you didn’t really dig in, you’re blessed because familiarity with it will help you with the knowledge portion. The understanding part , in my opinion, we must pray for and seek out. Anyway, this video was truly inspiring to me right now in my study of the Bible and I thank you. God bless you.

@@EliWintercross No one is under the Old Covenant, including its laws. The book of Hebrews is called Hebrews because it was written to Hebrews who would have a detailed understanding of what the writer was laying out. In it, he states that the old covenant is old and obsolete -- including the laws. Paul teaches clearly that the law brings bondage, slavery, and death -- regardless of who is under the law. For 2,000 years the Israelites have rejected their Messiah and cling to an outdated covenant. What is even worse is that their are Christian groups that are adamant that the old covenant sabbath should be obeyed. There is neither jew nor gentile. We are all under Christ and not the law -- if indeed we are in Christ.

Well done brother and well done Voddie. Good video, clear concise biblical thoughts, enjoyed it. I have a recommendation to all of us as Christians, read the Bible from Genesis through to Revelation and keep doing it over and over again. I have been doing this for a number of years, and will keep doing it. I believe it is healthy for us as we will gain a more balanced view of Scripture and when examining one passage, in your mind is the background, broad understanding of the whole Bible. Don't worry about how long it takes, just keep doing it. Some days I will read one chapter, other days several, I don't let that bother me. I just persist in it as I believe it to be a spiritually healthy discipline, and in my mind the best way to read the Bible. As I do that I may study various themes or passages of Scripture but will continue on with my regular reading. Blessings upon you and I hope my thoughts might be helpful to someone.

It is my testimony of how the Lord, after 33 years of being a Christian, delivered me from same-sex attraction. The book hasn't blown up yet, however the responses that I have gotten have been amazing! I don't know where this is going to take me but I know that I'm going to be confronted with such questions as these; questions that have never entered my mind! Thank you brother for sharing this! I want to encourage you as a fellow parent!! I watched a video earlier today and it was a Christian woman reviewing a Christian parenting book. According to that book, it says that we as parents can do our best to lead our children in the right direction, but we can’t save them- only Jesus can. God has a plan for everyone and He wishes for everyone to be saved, but humans don’t choose God. Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father” (John 6:65 NASB). My parents did their best and I still went the gay emo phase- but I needed to so God could show me that I can’t do this walk on my own. Everything you’re child will go through is part of the plan God has for them, including them having you as a parent! This world will try to sway your child, but have faith because Gods eye is on the sparrow, so how much more is His eye on you and your family? Amen Brother, God Bless❤️

So, I began an in-depth study reading the books in order, and it has made all the difference to see how things relate to one another and the progress of why things occurred as they did. So, if you're having trouble dividing the word, try starting from the beginning with an open mind and heart and allow God to guide you to the truth because it's all there.

well... actually this is an old argument and it only stumped Christians who didn't know the Law very well. However, it's not a terrifying question once you understand which laws are ceremonial, judicial, and moral. In terms of the tiktok girl, it's a funny tik tok, once you realize the differentiation of the laws, that she's having a conversation that seemingly makes sense on the surface, but it's nonsense underneath, especially in the ancient Jewish context. It's like she's saying "the sky is blue" "yeah but the earth is flat".... doesn't make sense does it?

I think Christians don't understand what's being really asked. This person is asking why the Christian doesn't practice what they preach. I do this all the time because I am an atheist. Hypocrisy is something we all look at as a sign that what we are being told is a lie. So I've heard this response "this is moral/ceremonial/judicial law and this isn't relevant to Christians anymore". It didn't work. It's just another word game. It won't solve the real question I'm asking. Why are you being a hypocrite? (I won't come out, I'm just strongly implying that I believe you are a hypocrite.) I'm sure that you Christians are very sincere but this argument was already destroyed. Sorry. Matthew 5: 17-19.. emphasis on 19. 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Do you understand what verse 19 is saying? Are you "relaxing" the Law when you play these games about how that was ceremonial so it's no longer relevant? Come on.... Square that circle for me. We both know that's the kill shot. I'm very sorry. it wasn't a mic drop.... unless Christians have very very low standards. (I mean, did you notice that this pastor didn't mention how to figure out what was a moral law? Did you notice that he didn't pick one of the more problematic laws such as how parents should kill their disobedient children? Or slavery rules? He cherry picked the verse for murder that work with our modern sensibilities. That pastor did the equivalent of answering the question about whether the sky was blue with a 'I like cheese". Oh.. one major question. There is two groups of people that Jesus calls out. 1. Pharisees who pray in public and perform in public and are hypocrites and 2. Rich people. Your Jesus HATES rich people. Why don't you call out your christians when they act in ways that are not in line with the Biblical Jesus? Why is it always gay people? Why is it never your pretentious hypocritical mother? Why is it not your braggart of a father?

It isn't a question of whether we NEED to obey them or not. It IS a question of what God requires of us NOW. John the Apostle says what the message is in John 20;21- we are to believe in Him and FOLLOW His example. When we do that, we fulfill the kind of righteousness that God requires. The ceremony and such that the Old Covenant relates to, was merely a foreshadowing of future things which Christ would fulfill and also speaks to the FUTURE things which Christ has yet to do, such as return a second time. So if someone tells you that you gotta follow the law, tell them that following Jesus' example is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets (Luke 24:27)
@mhoward1456

@@jaytv4eva So Jay, are you saying that we need to follow the Old Covenant or the New Covenant? l see the New fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:31-34 as the freedom in the New Testament. There are those within Christianity that INSIST that Christians follow the Old Testament laws. Yes, 9 of the 10 Commandments were repeted in the New Testament, but the Deuteronomy and Leviticus laws were for the Jews. There are Cermonial (for the Priests and covenant people), Civil (meant to rule the people in a trible covenant) and Moral - which all humans need to follow. I'm amazed at How many Christian will vehemently argue againt pork, tattoos, etc, but change directions when I tell them, "well...do you cut your beards, wear clothing made of more than one fabric, etc, etc. And they try to obfuscate as to why we don't need to follow that???
@jaytv4eva
@jaytv4eva 5 ай бұрын
@@mhoward1456 I said "It isn't a question of whether we NEED to obey them or not. It IS a question of what God requires of us NOW." (John 20:21, 1 Peter 2:21) Shellfish, cornered beards, sex on a period, and lobsters aren't what defile you. What defiles you is your attitude towards Jesus the Messiah and the Gospel. If you are a Christian, then you are to take up his cause and follow Him. If not, then you aren't part of His Kingdom and will NOT receive heaven as your inheritance. The Gospels are ALL very clear on that, the question is, why are you stumbling over the Gospel? Jesus says that He came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets and in Luke 24:27, He reminds two of His disciples the whole purpose of His suffering, death and resurrection and in John 12, Jesus reminds EVERYONE that He received his sermons and messages straight from His Father in Heaven. The Law and Prophets are clear; no one can be saved and inherit the Kingdom of Heaven if they didn't have faith and hope in the Messiah. Genesis 3:15 infers it, Genesis 15:6 affirms it, Psalms 16 references it within the context of David's personal life, Proverbs 8 poetically refers to the co-eternality of the Messiah, and Isaiah 61:1-3 refers to the source of the redemption of Israel, which is brought about not by might or power, but by the Spirit of God via THE BRANCH (who IS the Messiah) (Zechariah 4:6) The scriptures speak for themselves plainly, the REAL question is, WHY AREN'T MORE PEOPLE MASTERING THE BASICS BEFORE MAJORING IN THE MAJORS? I could sit here and hurl Bible verses in the comments all day long, but that doesn't mean that I necessarily understand them. I need to learn how to take my time and STUDY them carefully and try to understand them FIRST. TLDR: Gospels and OT compliment each other and if you do your best to follow Christ's example, you are a Christian. Don't get involved in discussions that you feel are too advanced, instead, take the time to carefully study any cherry picked or out of context verses you find in order to find the truth. And you're right to say we are to love people, straight, homosexual, non-binary, etc...as God does. I have struggled w/ " loving thy neighbor...." or enemy or whomever I have opposing views . I've been actively praying about this & continuing to try to work through it all. As for taking scriptures & taking some of it out of context..yup, I'm guilty so many times of doing that until I realized that's not the way to study & understand His word. People tend to take a verse in the bible, declare it to be universal & offer interpretation of the text as the whole biblical position. it is arrogant to hide behind a few verses of the scripture interpreted out of context & then make it the rule or law. I love your readings of scripture, your truths about God and the word. Keep up the good works. In faith, go always!!

I’ve met false Prophets, false brothers, and pastors, who don’t stand on the word of God quite a bit, but I’ve never heard a person who takes the Word Of God like this girl did. Thank you for this video. That pastor in the video is phenomenal by the way. This clearly shows l The pastoral gift that God instill in a person and mixes it with the teaching gift. Beautiful. Praise God for This pastor who stands up, teaches and protects the sheep, and does not compromise.

This is a great explanation, thank you for posting.. I think I can defend almost any argument someone brings, but only if they have legitimate and honest questions and are willing to listen to the answers. Most DO NOT, so I don't throw pearls before swine.
