Christians don’t want to sin. We all want to please God. So we don’t do what we know is wrong. But what about those sins that WE don’t think of as sins? Could we be doing something wrong, that’s just as sinful as lying and stealing for example, without even realizing it?
It’s possible. If we are not keeping our word. And aside from being sin, not keeping our word, is a matter of character. It is important in business, friendship, marriage, and ministry. It’s about following through with what we say. And although the Bible teaches us to do this, and our moral standards say we should, too few of us are actively keeping our word. It seems to be a lost art these days. But that has to change. Society needs men and women, husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, and pastors and leaders to do what they say and to say what they do.
