I got to visit Iceland at the end of February 2018 and it was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering it. As for genre of black metal, I think you could just call them dissonant black metal even though that isn't a genre perse. This definitely wouldn't fall into second wave though.

It's *Eth* (/ɛð/, uppercase: Ð, lowercase: ð), a letter used in Old English, Middle English, Icelandic, Faroese, and Elfdalian. In the International Phonetic Alphabet ð is the symbol for the _voiced dental fricative_ that is familiar to English-speakers as the _th_ sound in _father_ :) Icelandic has also what may be the letter with the sickest _cool_ name, *Thorn* or *þorn* (uppercase: Þ, lowercase: þ), a letter in the Old English, Gothic, Old Norse, Old Swedish and modern Icelandic alphabets, as well as some dialects of Middle English. Crowley and Thelema is not really satanism. It's western occultism. Theres nothing Satan about it. It was a system invented by Crowley. Some of the deities found in the Liber Al are egyptian ones, which do not share the same meaning to "real" egyptian deities. It is very confusing and doesn't make a lot of sense for someone who is new to this. He practically invented deities himself as well like BABALON. Satanism is different, as well is Luciferianism. Though both Paths can also use occultism as a vehicle.

I do agree that weather influences the music of many northern Black Metal but if you want Black Metal from sunny places you could check out Atman from Spain or Absu from Texas, great bands. Weather/environment has a lot to do with the sound in black metal and the main reason I got into it. I live high in the mountains of Colorado, with lots of snow, craggy peaks, and pine forests. Very similar to Norway, minus the ocean. Black metal fits perfectly, like when i'm snowboarding in a blizzard while listening to Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse album.

This was a very pleasant surprise! I think another song of theirs, maybe Flesh Cathedral, would've been a better one to start with! You guys absolutely have to react to Akercocke at some point, there's no other band quite like them! In terms of songs, 'Verdelet'' is a great example of their musical style, 'My Apterous Angel' is also a really fantastic one, and 'A Skin For Dancing In' is one of my favourite tracks ever, really captures the atmosphere they go for. 'Horns of Baphomet' is also great, and the video is fun too!
