Reminds me of Blair Waldorf's quote " Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It's movement, design. & architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are & what we want to be." @@shadies6479 fashion is art and there is nothing embarrassing about quoting a fictional character. I notice though that you didn't manage to contradict anything said though with any arguments. The idea that fashion isn't art when it is a craft that has been utilized in politics, culture, and spiritualism for centuries is just a misogynist myth since people code sartorial work as female. Elizabeth was a true diamond in the rough. Her legacy will eternally sparkle on all generations. Her style was unique, timeless and versatile. Her jewelry collection top notch, talent brilliant and heart priceless. She is and will always be a true humble and compassionate Queen. She was so loving to the hurting souls battling aides. She helped protect and flourish innocent children with her charitable events. I loved that she brought Christmas magic to Neverland back in the day. I believe she was Michael Jackson’s saving grace. He was such a lost and hurting soul. Miss them both but they have created a lasting imprint on my life.

On my way to college at the time in 1980 my boyfriend called me to let me know Elizabeth Taylor was filming on location at Union Station, Toronto Canada. ( Between Friends) I left school and made my way to Front Street to see the most beautiful woman in the world. She was just breath taking it’s been one of the most memorable moments of my life as I spent the whole afternoon watching them. Elizabeth and Carol Burnett finally at the end of shooting I ran to get some cheap flowers at the flower stand …it was a bit tacky, as she made her way to the Royal York Hotel across the street. I will never forget her as I just turned 60. What beauty! Blessing 🇨🇦

She had such a dark life, such a painful, tortured life, yet this is why we connect to her, to her uniquely human self. I feel like I get her without ever having met her. Agreed, though she always said that jewelry should be worn and enjoyed. To that end, she wanted to sell the collection for someone else to enjoy and the monies collected from the sales would go to humanitarian causes like HIV/AIDS charities. It would have been great to have a billionaire buy the entire collection and donate it to a museum so the world could continue to enjoy it and the wonderful stories behind the jewelry.

I grew up hearing about the legendary Elizabeth Burton as she was known then, then read an autobiography about her and was hooked. Extraordinary woman, extraordinary life.

My biggest regret was never seeing her in person... I do have a slight connection to her though... my grandfather's cousin, actor Keefe Brasselle was in a movie with Elizabeth... "A Place in the Sun"! This was the famous movie where she was with Montgomery Cliff, and became a star! 😎 I've seen the movie twice so far, and quite a thrill to watch Keefe in the same scenes with Elizabeth! Be sure to check out the movie and the credits.
